just excellent stuff.  i am picking up my refurbished variac there this weekend.

Hahaha no way!  We probably have the same one then as I've got a couple from there as well.  I'll be in and out of the shop all weekend so I might end up running into you....if we haven't already in the past :beerchug:

Pendragons? Curious. Gotta hear what you have to say.

Haven't taken delivery yet, but I'm very excited to get them in. They are extremely well reviewed on the goN, AK, etc. Tzvi has been a huge help as well (his recomendation). Unfortunately I wasn't able to audition them before buying but I share very similar tastes with Tzvi, so I'm fairly confident I'll love them.

Sounds like a pretty good bet for you then :) Do you have pics of the F5t lurking somewhere? What version, among other things did you choose for it?

I just suggested things I knew you wouldn't like so you could sell them and I'd get them cheaper used.

It is still in the Frankenstein phase, not much going yet. It is a pretty standard v2 builld (50 wpc). I'm using top shelf caps, etc. but nothing too special. Case is from modu and all the wiring is UP-OCC copper/gold. 2, 300VA transformers instead of the standard single 600VA. I'll definitely post up some pictures when it is all done.

Sounds like a great one! Looking forward to the eye candy. Yeah It's tough to beat the Modu cases in the "overall" aspect.

They'd be a great match with my Leben and I've heard nothing but good
things. The price seems excellent and they come recommended from
people I trust. If I had a few grand to drop I can't say I wouldn't be
tempted by them.

Heck, I can't say I'm not tempted even without the money. lol.

Heading down a dangerous road for sure if we're talking about floor standing speakers....a lot of nice stuff out there.....B&W, Wilsons, Revel, Paradigm, PSB, Salk, Dynaudio Viena Acoustics, Sonus Faber etc etc.....list does not end and only your wallet is the limit.  I think it'll be awesome Greed, no headphone setup will ever match certain aspects of a well spec'ed/setup floor standing speakers.  Looking forward to those pics.

Swapped out the head-fi rig for a speaker set-up in the office.

I thought it would be easier for me to "work" with speakers instead of cans but I am not getting anything done...

Is the source not a weakness in such a system? It seems so modest... Would something like an ak120 not be more appropriate... or am I missing something? Thanks.

HERE is my complete review. It's a great amp, sounds very nice with HD800, T1, and LCD-2.
