That's for the Snapdragon version, the Exynos 5 version will have much better results with the Wolfson WM5102L3000.gif

Ahhhhh. A billion variants. I want the aussie LTE version with the Exynos and Wolfson chip.......can't have everything. :(

Yes, wish there was a true world phone that has dual SIM slots and can handle all LTE bands. Maybe in five years time or wishful thinking. Haha

I will receive my S4 LTE on May 10th...

Unfortunately, not the Octa as it is not compatible with LTE :(

glad to hear that some will be shipping with wolfsons!

I already have s3 int version. Great audio quality for a phone.

Not sure I can trust GSM arena review update on audio. For instance, would Galaxy s3 measurements be even better with their new method?

Would like to upgrade, but not if the audio quality is similar or worse.

If GSM measurements are valid the snapdragon version seems great. Freq, noise, dynamic range etc..

Its not always about the dac, but more about implementation. The worse it measures, the faster people will start looking for a new portable DAC, even if it has wolfson or not.

Lets also hope Samsung has managed to keep the output impedance even lower this time. Remember galaxy s2

...and a decent amp part.

Owners of galaxy S4, please post your impressions on sound!

Yes, implementation is key. Cramming more sensors and accommodating more bands in a similar size chassis is challenging as it is.

It appears Samsung is having trouble fulfilling pre-orders in certain countries so the impressions will trickle in.

Got my white s4 on the 27th...its the european 9505? Version...am in the netherlands..but i cant find out what chip it uses for sound..its clocked on 1.9mhz quadcore. Sound through headphone is acceptable. Screen is mindblowing!! Eye scrolling is annoying..i switched it off biggrin.gif

Hi all, with the Galaxy S4 some people are reporting audio distortion at higher volume levels on certain IEMs. I, for one, am experiencing it on my UE600, which has 13ohm impedance. Does this mean that the GS4 has high impedance and isn't providing enough current to drive my earphones? That's really disappointing coming from an iPhone which drove it fine...

It works perfect on my headphones and other higher impedance sources though.
