Turntable Speakers

Hi Folks,

 

I've had my Rega P-3 for about a year, with a solid receiver and amp.  I've just upgraded my speakers to floor-standing Acoustech PL-89s.  I thought I'd done enough research, read a lot of good reviews, etc., but now I'm finding them mentioned most often as theatre speakers.  Does this really matter?  I spin some newly pressed vinyl, as well as older discs.  Maybe it's all in my head, but now I'm questioning my decision.  My case has classic rock, country, jazz, and R&B.

 

Any help is appreciated.

I can't see how the description of them as "theatre speakers" by some would matter.

 

All stereo speakers can be used as "theatre speakers" if that means using them in a surround sound system with a video screen. You just need to add the additional speakers.
