Can the HD650 do bass like closed headphones? - Page 3

I found the HD650 to not have as much ass as the 990, so I could see it being in the realms of the 880.

I see so many posts in the thread of the 990 and 880, neither of which are closed-back.

 

I thought my HD 650s offer much more bass quantity than my DT 770 Pro LEs do, and more than my ATH-A900X as well. I found the bass to be exceptional and satisfying.

I didn't hear the same thing. The HD650 may extend more than the A900X, but the ATs have a noticeable midbass hump that gives it more thump, and bass quantity than the Senns.

 

Edit: And I'll echo everyone else: the HD650s are not bassy cans.

I thought, subjectively, that the A900X's bass quantity was somewhere above the DT 770 LE and below the HF-2. I thought the HF-2 had comparable bass quantity to the HD 650, although the former seemed to be more midbass-biased.

 

 

I thought the closed headphones certainly had better extension, but the HD 650 had the upper hand on quantity versus the DT 770 LE and A900X but not the W1000X.
