I don't know if it's still the case, but the Westone UM3X I owned in the past was made in the USA.

Maybe get her Etymotic ER-4P's?

They are Made in USA. You can tell her Hillary Clinton wears them.

Unless she has something against Hillary Clinton, in that case don't.

She is especially particular to country of origin.

She does not think the Japanese are fore coming with the radiation level leak.

She is currently using Grado but still very much prefer the Sennheiser it replaced.

She tried the IE800 but hate it...

I can't think of anything else anymore..

Sad.  Should probably avoid North Korea too.

This lady is a bit strange....but all power to her!

I'm pretty sure that Fisher-Amp IEMs are manufactured in Germany.

The lady is eccentric..yes..Foolish..no.

There is no racism involve..the lady is chinese..

She is just particular over product safety and workmanship.

She is very particular abt her "sound" which is my fault..she was a bundled earbud user till she put on my HD600 with a bijou DIY amp....her home rig is a Leban CS300 with a HD800.

She purchased a MKIII and a HD600 for her office use.

She is NOT entirely off China product..she does uses a HM602 till recently (it was stolen). She is on Cowon J3 and a SR225 now.

Anyways, the radiation issue is mere bollocks; I'm pretty sure whatever that is manufactured in Japan has negligible radiation levels; should be safe enough. You'll get more radiation from x-rays or heck, mobile phone usage anyways compared to the radiation coming from made-in-Japan IEMs lol.

Cowon isnt even chinese.

Xenophobia if I ever heard of anything.

You wanna avoid chinese and japanese products?

Good luck with that.

EarSonics are made in France :)

Prices range from $100 to $1000+ so you should find something that you like. I personally own a pair of SM1 that I'm very happy with.

Seems like you need to dump this lady. If she wants a headphone that bad and is that picky, she should buy it herself IMO…

I understand where OP is coming from though. My mum is Chinese too, and won't trust certain Chinese products...  Still, she's not crazy to the point where she won't use/buy them, she just prefers stuff made somewhere else. Not sure how much of it is a general distrust of other Chinese people (this is pretty common among immigrant populations, I've noticed) and how much of it is the general "buy made in murica things" attitude from living in the US. But she has no issue with Japanese products. I'm sure if someone told her the radiation in Japanese products was damaging she'd probably avoid them too. And sell her Honda CR-V because it's exposing her to radiation, or something. Paranoid people will be paranoid no matter where they're from. She was going to do a layover in Japan during a trip to China this past summer but was afraid of the radiation levels there… even though I reminded her she's getting several orders of magnitude greater dose of ionizing radiation from cosmic rays from just flying than she'd ever get from the slightly elevated background radiation in Japan. Pretty ridiculous.

Some Denon's headphones are made in Austria

And this whole issue is complete paraonia and overblown.

+1 for her to get it herself.

EDIT: AKG and Grado as well
