I love Roisin Murphy! I listened to Overpowered a lot. It's a great album for AT stuff because her voice is so nuanced - with a husky depth - but all the electronic / pop elements are just fun on the AD1000X / ES10.
Another great album, if you want to hear a fun variety of female vocals, is Here Lies Love, David Byrne + Fatboy Slim's disco opera song cycle about the life of former First Lady of the Phillipines, Imelda Marcos. Murphy is on this album as well (it was how I was introduced to her on this album) along with some other really killer vocalists. There is a different female vocalist for each part of the story, as well as some pretty itchy melodies.
I often wonder how AT always nails female vocals. Is it because there is a technical philosophy behind the design of AT headphones that always inadvertently results in such a peak, or is there some kind of tuning master at AT who just decides the final sound for everything must be so? (Or more likely, both?)
