The DAC1 is the best DAC I've heard under $2000. I had an impossible time trying to tell the difference between this DAC and the Perfectwave DAC mk2 (using stax SR007 headphones). It's an excellent DAC that excels in producing very tight and impactful bass.
I am downgrading to something a bit cheaper for home listening.
This unit has two toslink inputs, two coax inputs and one adaptive USB input (I think the USB sounds excellent even though it's not as technically impressive as later asynchronous technologies).
This is a balanced DAC with both RCA and XLR outputs.
