Hi all Head Fiers friends

i want to share my personal experience with my friends , that the charger for the battery our portable Dac and Amp is very important .

we have tried many different charger to charge the battery from our audio gear , especially

5 volt with micro or mini USB charger .

for  example : go dap dd1

                       Hisound studio v 3rd edition ,

                       Astell and Kern AK 100

if we charge with iPhone charger has different sound quality compare with blackberry charger or external power bank like Energizer xp 8000

i will share our opinion with many charger for the best sound quality as follow :

1. We use Energizer xp 8000 power bank

2. We use blackberry charger from old type / bigger size

3. We use Iphone charger

please share your opinion and experiment here

thank you

cheers

wow, i dont even know how to respond to that level of audiophoolery... i guess it was bound to happen one of these days.  should only be a few months now until we see boutique 5v battery charging products :/

What about different AC outlets in the house, do they have any effect on the different chargers?

This is going to be like that "Fuse's that sound different" thread...

And you will do a shoot-out comparison between several of those boutique 5V chargers, right Doug?  =D

There's a possibility that poorly designed battery chargers could inject noise into an audio device while simultaneously connected to both the AC power line and the audio device. But battery chargers somehow affecting the quality of the sound produced by the battery powered device after the charger has been disconnected? Huh?

The best way if you connect directly your power outlet with separate fuse in your electrical panel , and you can try it in your power outlet between the first , second and the other plug

and you can hear the SQ different .

Rudi, may I know what setup are you running with? I mean your whole setup to test the different chargers' sound.

Hi Penmarker

for all my 5 volt portable set up I have tested with many charger , like IPod charger , blackberry old / big charger , and many portable power bank .

i have tested on my dap AK 100 and Hisound studio v 3rd edition

The result are different between all the charger that I used

Note :

you can try like me , please connect your power bank from different brand to your dap like in my picture AK 100  during you charger , and play 1 song , and stop the song , take out the charger A and directly change with charger B and the other charger as well .

you can hear the SQ different very clear .

if you find the best ones , you can use as your reference charger for your audio gear.

until now my best charger is Blackberry old charger

for power bank is my Energizer XP 8000

Ah yes. The problem you're facing is in the circuitry. Its almost the same as whether you have a power conditioner or not. Also, all of them charge at the same volts 5V but at different currents ?A. Take some time and charge your battery first before listening and listen to the charged but unplugged batteries. Different chargers also affect it even when they're not plugged in as the electrical power is already contaminated by the impurities in the source itself. Its almost like drinking filtered water vs unfiltered water, power also need to be filtered because the power plant might use unclean coal or water supply (for hydroelectric turbines). For better and accurate sound reproduction I suggest you use the Dr. Dre endorsed Beats Studio for the crystal clear clarity sound justified by the price tag. You can also try SOL republic that sounds equally divine. Other brands neigh like horses.

^^ thank you Penmarker for  your explanation .

My explanation above only to test sound different from many power bank , the result IMO if I use power bank Energizer to charge my AK 100 is the best compare the rest from my pier bank .

For he theory I don't know why so different SQ  with different power charger and power bank .

maybe another members can help me for the explanation why the SQ so different if I use different charger or power bank ?

thank you
