Fyr...:

Did you ever hear about your SR-404's? Are you willing to chance the 007's after your experience with the SR-404? BTW, what went wrong with your 404's?

Chefguru -
where did you get that the MSRP of the ATH-L3000 green edition is $3,500? the only place you can buy it (technically... since it is an internet edition and only sold direct from AT?) is here and it goes for 250,000 yen. I assume it isn't too far off from the MSRP of the regular one (which sells for 220,000 yen at most stores, they use open pricing so us consumers cannot easily tell the MSRP and the stores technically can price it whatever they want).

the exchange rate and the fact that these are not sold by AT for markets other than Japan makes the MSRP harder to determine... but a $1000 difference seems a bit off.

I would say so!

250,000 yen = $2,372.59
220,000 yen = $2,087.88

A member here said the green edition was 1k more (some one who own's the l3000 i forgot there head-fi screen name). Also the price on the l3000 has a big range depending on where you get it from. Musk for example got one for $1,600, on ath's own site it says $1,800, on eifl it says $2,000, and on audio cubes it says $2,500.

well, yes, the store price does vary a lot but I thought you were talking about MSRP (and I guess you can take the supposed japanese MSRP and use an exchange rate of 105 - 110 which is what it has been recently.).

I do like the price Musk got it for. is that for a new one?

You won't believe this. $40,845 USD for the Sennheiser Orpheus. Unbelievable... but read this

In fact, there's an Orpheus HE90 + HEV90 on AudiogoN right now! Yours for US$29,000 + shipping from Poland!

And I thought the $12,000 + $120 or so for shipping that I saw a similar system (sans the added Stax Pro bias jack on the HEV90) sell on eBay for was ludicrous...

Oh well, I'll get by on vintage Lambdas and SR-202s for the time being.

EDIT: Holy crap, I just realized the last poster bumped a thread from 2004. That explains the SR-007 having SR-009 pricing in the older posts...
