Most expensive headphones in the world?

What is the most expensive headphones you have ever seen? These Sony ones cost $3,499 USD which is the most I have seen. And I am talking about just standalone headphones, not a complete electrostatic system like the Orpheous :P

Apparently these headphones are made from Zelkova trees and have Greek lambskin covers. Cool.

Yup.. I think a while ago there was a New York area Head-Fi meet or something where there were three Sony MDR-R10's at the scene... not one.. not two.. but three...

well, you could always just buy only the HE90 and not the HEV90 amp of the orpheus and pair it with some insane custom built amp. That'd be quite pricey as well eh?

The Sony R10 are as you said around $3000. Orpheus with an amp is about $14500. Well, how do you divide the price on Orpheus? 25/75, 50/50, 75/25 (headphones/amp) I'd say about 50/50, so about $7000 for the headphones. Dont know how much eric343 paid for his Orpheus headphones but it was at least $3500 (used)

I believe the Stax Omega II are retailing for close to $4000.
One does need an amp to run these.
Out of dnamic phones the R10 are probably the most expensive.
I did spot the leatherhead for close to 2500 on the japanese wesite linked above.
personally i reckon they are overpriced.
i couldn't imagine paying that much for any headphone bar the Stax or the Orpheus.

making them the most expensive headphones in the world, well outclassing R10s and their piddly brethren.
