Cleaning iem filters?

Hello!

 

Couldn't find in search although I'm pretty positive there are some threads about this but here goes...

 

I've had the Nocs NS400 for over a month now and I think the sound quality lessened after the first week. It seems there was some goo in the filter and I tried to wash it then with a soap water dampened cloth, no help. It seems there is not much of it anymore, only on the sides a bit. For future endeavours, what to remove ear wax with? How should one go about this?

hydrogen peroxide or alcohol but you likely need to remove the screen and rinse through it. There may be foam or other material behind the screen so not be a good idea to try and wash it attached.

Thank you for your answer. I can't remove it without braking the iem so that's out of the question. The filter is a metal grill. I shall try some alcohol when I get the chance.

The problem is that it has nowhere to go. Perhaps you could hold a alcohol wet towel against it and it will wick away. Screens can usually be carefully removed and reglued if that's a last resort for you.
