Hmm maybe I should go 40's then...

If you like added bass and bigger staging then go for it. I have sold off all my Sony's and kept the 40's.

Cool, I am no basshead but being enveloped in music with big soundstage is just awesome! I just hope they are not too dark for me as I love the clear sound of the 3, still I would probably get used it it anyway.

@kevms89

I feel people on this forum gave wrong reviews on h1 and h3

I should have got me electronics a161 as they are the best ba iem under 100 dollars right now and are just awesome as could be found for only 70 dollars.

I wasted money on xba h1 and they can't even compete with offerings half the price and sound muddier than shure s4 and even shure 215 are way better and balanced

Yea the bass and the soundstage are the highlights of the H1, they aren't bad but they just have this sound that is kinda muddy and not as clear as the xba3, certainly something I can recommend for people who like bass but not for those that want a balanced clear sound.

not to mention the foolish price and ppl like us falling in the honey trap.

I have got

me a151
sennheiser cx180
brainwavz m3
sony mh-1c
sony xba h1

I can say that even cx 180 at one sixth the price are way better value for anyone who is not a basshead

I wont say $150 is terrible but I would take them over the re400.

Have you heard the xba 4 or 40? Thoughts?

no mate and am seriously discouraging u not to waste money on sony iems if u value details and vocals.

the second problem is sony offers no warranty more than useless manufacturer warranty for like 90 days!

I had heard that sennheiser cx 400 were ok and now am planning to get them as sennheiser also offers 2 year warranty.

but where does ur preference lie?

rock,pop,rap?

and how much bass do u want?

Well the thing is I have the xba3 and I think they are great! Nice bass, nice detail, seperation, soundstage is solid, clarity is good, overall I really like them so I figured I'd go for an upgrade, H1's were not.

Personally I listen to a lot of genres so an all rounder is ideal for me, mostly though a lot of pop, pop rock and singer-songwriter type songs, those are my main but then I have some rap, metal, reggae and what not.

Damn I wish you would have....they dont have that muddy sound and they have very good detail and bass to beat, only reason I bought the H1 is because I figured it was an upgrade , I am happy with my xba3, I might get the 40's though.
