likewise there are many.
even sennheiser does it.
I bought HD 518, and the label it had was ''deep rich bass sound'',that was misleading to a newbie. I wasn't cause I knew years before buying it that open headphones are low on bass and so wasn't expecting it.
I also know quality vs quantity thing.. tight controlled bass and all,but that too wasn't there.
their bass is neither tight nor deep and rich nor is the amount high enough to be labeled as muddy . infact it doesn't deserve the label.
I don't know about beats much other than name of dre and a couple times I visited it's website.
but regarding false advertising ,every brand does it.

But then again if you compare them to something more similar in comparison, the HD518 and HD558 really has much better bass than something like a AD700.

That would obviously be safest, as, if my understanding of the beats statement is correct, they were never intended to be worn there. Explains a lot, don't you think?

Quoted for truth. Almost everyone exaggerates or flat out lies.

I think you make a very valid point.

I should have remembered to include the headphone wires in the image, because it looks like a beat rip off without them. eek.gif

agreed with u,.there is almost 20 db difference in bass frequencies between the sennheiser and ad700. up can say bass on ad700 is non existent.
but still can't agree on the "deep, rich bass sound " label by sennheiser.

Yeah agree that they kinda stretched it there. Also touting them as an 'audiophile grade' and fitting them with a 6.3 mm jack was quite a bit of a stretch

That's subjective, though. It's conceivable that their claim could be true for someone. Beats operates on marketing that spreads clear and blatant lies, it's a completely different game with them.

Yeah, but nevertheless i still have a feeling that it's a little rediculous to stick a 6.3 jack to a HD518. Save it for the higher end stuff which is actually more amp dependant...!
