In your first post you mentioned the iPhone. If you are going to use an i-device then you are probably better off with 32ohms or 80ohms, in that order. I have the 250 ohm version of the 770Pros and they sound much better with a proper amplifier than just any ol' headphone jack.

 

In general, the lower the ohms the easier it is to drive. 32 ohms is common for portable use.

+1 i own the 32ohm dt770 (MMX300) and thats the one you want. Amazing deep tight bass with not too much clarity on the top end will allow you to crank it up and get into your music. The DT770 32ohm is a perfect match for you.

Or the DT770 LE which is 32ohm aswell.

Having compared the 32 to the 0 and 250 the 32ohm is a much lesser headphone compared to the others. The 80's are probably the best bet there really easy to drive and even though they are a lower ohm they have not decreased the quality like the 32.

Ok, but is that statement based upon being driven by an iphone, because thats what he will be using.

supposedly the 80ohm are have the boomiest bass from the dt770s...they will be the ones you want. some guy had a faq posted on here stating their differences, the 80ohm supposedly have a chamber built in and positioned a bit differently which give it more bass. I havent tested all the others but the bass is prominent and really muddy for certain type of music but for Rap, i found them to be really good and better than other headphones I tested.
