Brand New Hybrid IEM for Bass

So, during last week, I was surfing the web. Than, I found a ad that was selling a dual driver iem for around 30000won, or around 30USD. Being an audiophile, I had to click it.

How shocking would it be to find a dual driver iem for 30 dollars! But it wasn't a dual dynamic or armature iem.

Named EX2-501, these iems have a DMS speaker and a dynamic speaker.

DMS is a speaker meant to shake the bone to pass on the sound, and hence, will literally shake your head. The dynamic speaker is used for more refined bass as well the mid/highs.

My guess is that the sound will not meet audiophile standard, but what I'm seeing is a possibility for a higher end audio companies in Korea to develop similar product, with variations.

Here are some pics

It has a separate volume control for the dynamic and DMS speaker, allowing user to change the balance.

Science and inside of the iem

Thank You

I guess no one is interested, but I still demoed them. They are ridiculously hard to drive. Although I didn't have an amp, I had to go to full volume on my walkman to power it to even listenable level. I use about 65% volume for SRH940. Also, these don't have bass that shakes your head. It is boomy, but slightly less boomy than beats. It was an interesting idea though. A lot of interesting IEMs are being developed in Korea. I might review a ~$30 BA IEM from Korea if I can.

this is interesting, especially for 30$. using bone conduction for an iem kinda makes sense, but still - seems really hard to pull off...

Interesting idea, but they failed to pull it off. I guess it's not really fair for me to compare as I only had SE535 and X20(Dual TWFK) to compare it too. Still, it was very hard to drive, SQ was similar to a skullcandy, and heavy too. Maybe if a more serious company tries to make one...

Sorry for bringing this dead tread up again, but are there other companies that make DMS driver iems? I really wanted to like this one, but I couldn't. I want to see DMS with good SQ.
