Baldur MK2 vs Baldur MK3 (SE535ltd)

Thread Starter

Hello guys. I'm holding on to a pair of SE535ltds and after hearing so much about aftermarket upgrades, I thought I would give the cables a try.

After some research, I narrowed down to the MK2 (being the most popular).

& then I saw the new MK3s which apparently is made of the same material as the MK2 but better.

The material of Baldur MKIII is same as MKII, but MKIII plated with tinfoil shielding layer, it will increase the sound range, sound is  more gorgeous

Now I am deciding between the two. Tried searching for reviews but there isn't much comments about it. Has anyone here tried both MK3 & MK2? Are there any differences between the two?

I have the same question too. It appears to me only S**R***y and Z*P***e offer Baldur Mk II or III cables. I did some research and noted that cables using these two materials can improve crispness mid to high freq sounds. However there is nothing to do with bass (as we all know Shure 535 is weak on that).

I wish to find some alternative manufacturers making Baldur Mk II or III. Looks like Nordost doesn't product anymore. Beat Audio doesn't make Baldur Mk II or III cables too.

At the same time, I read the other thread about different aftermarket cables and I have no idea if there are any cables/ material of cables can beat Baldur, especially in helping out the bass sound thing.
