Would a DAC improve anything

Hi,

I have been researching quite a bit a can't really figure out if I'll gain anything from adding a DAC,

 

I'm currently using an external soundcard connected to a tube headphone amp (darkvoice) with sennheiser HD650's.

I'm considering adding a DAC in between the soundcard and amp with optical. I've set a budget of $300 for the DAC. 1 of the DACs i'm considering is the Argon DAC1

What external sound card are you using? The sound card already has a DAC built in.

A "musical" DAC as an input to your tube amp you should clean things up.
