Rhapsodio Z1 and Z2 - The Zippo Amps

Thread Starter

A few days back i received a package i have been long awaiting from Rhapsodio. In it was a couple of cables and more importantly the Z2 amplifiers, an amplifier that is separated from many others by following a DIY style but being housed in a Zippo lighter. It is also a rather more technical amp than the likes of the cMoy with the Z2 i received being BTL balanced while the Z1 variation is single ended. So far i have tested them with some Ciems and found it to add nice detail and space while being rather smooth and on the 'brighter' side. I will add a review here in the future after more time and feel free to let me know how you get on if you get one. Here some images for you pleasure!

It actually has a rather similar signature leaning to the bright side just how i like it but this is not as grainy and is smoother with a more open presentation!

Do you need to send in a zippo lighter yourself or do they already have pre made ones?

Well I asked to buy z1 by email, they gave me amazon link to select a zippo from, that they would buy for me, and I would have to pay the zippo for them.

Also, they have lover end model coming ~60$

so when getting one you have to account for a zippo on top, hmmmm.... Not too much more though on the price really! Adds a nice customisation!

The BTL is part of circuit i think so that or single ended are the only connectors you can. I think it is no problem. As for housing they can provide with a cheaper lighter case but if you want Zippo or your own option let them now which one and they will get it for you and make the amp into it... as you can see a lot of cool options above and not too much money!
