Yes! No contest. X3 > DX50

Good to know that smily_headphones1.gif because I was about to trade my x3 for a dx50 O.o but before the firmware, do you think that dx50>x3?

Yes, pre 2.14, the DX50's clarity and soundstage gave it the edge, but since the X3's soundstage is comparable and its lush midrange and bass have improved in their clarity.

How about when it comes to neutrality? Do you think with the new firmware, the x3's neutrality is comparable to the dx50? Thanks in advance for replying in my questions man.

If neutrality is what you're after than I'd still probably go with the DX50. The X3 sounds great but it's not the king of neutrality

Actually I will be using the dap for my sennheiser hd558. Can you comment on which dap (x3 or dx50) do you think will better synergize with my headphone?

Tossed together a quick mock-up of what a list version of my 2.14 theme will look like:

Can't completely get away from icons  - but it's reasonably consistent with the existing lists (or will be when I'm done).

Cheers

Meaning the difference will not be significant in terms of sq?

Looking good! Post the modded UI when you're comfortable. I'll give it a try.

Ah, yes, liking that :-)

Just one thing though - do you think you could correct the spelling of 'Favourites'? ;-)

(Serious point but I suppose you'd then need two English versions in order to not upset the colonies).

I've got a question for you guys that's on the beta fw:

Is it any change in the sound using the line out?

Does anybody know if the any firmware that may come out soon will have more play modes on it? From my old media player, the iAudio X5L, you could play all artists A to Z without having to even get the thing out of your pocket to move on to the next album. It seems a bit of a shame that on the X3, I can only get it to play an album and then stop. I would like it to just go on to the next one automatically. I know that If I create a play list with all the tracks I have, this problem may get sorted out but then it will be a pain to find an album right in the middle of it all.

Thanks if anybody knows about this.
