Mine clicks when I hit play which I think is the relay, then it starts playing music

Maybe try changing the gains/volumes ?

Call the store or take it back on Monday. I bought my X3 & E12 from the headphonebar in Vancouver and both work like a charm.

Success. Headphone Bar was able to exchange my unit for a working one.

128 GB microSD card released by Sandisk

$200 to start with.  Anybody gonna get it and try it on the X3?

I'll try it... in a few years when the price drops to something reasonable :P

(and when Fiio has a library builder that can handle the number of files it would take to fill that LOL)

Mine's doing the same thing now, and it was working fine earlier when I was listening to music...

Strange...

This Canadian is glad to see that they are a reality now though! I currently have a 64GB card working in my C3 and clip zip. I wonder if that 128 card would work as well? This is of course until I get the mighty X5 :)

Edit: oops, wrong thread. I mean until I get the mighty X3!

People have been using full sized 128gb sd card with an adapter. Was thinking about getting one myself, but if microsds can actaully be had for $120ish...I'll wait. So far Amazon Canada has no mention of them, Amazon US won't ship anything electronic north, and I'm not too sure what the status of the microdia on Amazon JP is.

Nevermind, it's my cable. Switched to the stock cable on my JH11s, works fine. Using the custom cable, no dice.

Well it had a good 2.5 year run I guess, time to hit up Ted for another cable I suppose!

I just install DAC driver to my notebook today. My notebook now see X3 as speaker

Set X3 as default speaker, try to play music. But there is nothing except small noise all the time (play or pause). I try to change bit rate but doesn't work

I try both

Notebook's USB port ---------USB Cable-------->X3's Line Out----------------->Amp

and

Notebook's USB port ---------USB Cable-------->X3's Head phone Out----------------->Amp

X3 already set to DAC mode. Try to check and uncheck "Exclusive Mode" in above picture

Do I make any mistake?

Hey mikroski, it looks like it is set up correctly. Most likely you're media player is set to use a specific device instead of the windows default. So check your media players output settings and possibly restart the program.

and enable the x3 if it is disabled

For those using the X3 as a DAC here is a repost of the Icons I have made for it and the E17/E09K combo.

Made an icon up for Windows 7 Playback Devices for the X3 as a DAC just like I did for the E17 and Burson Conductor SL.

Save this X3 Icon file in your Docs or Pics, if you set the icon then move the file you will have to set it again.

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/29361323/FiiO-X3.ico

Here is the E17/E09K Icon as well for anyone that wants it as well.

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/29361323/E17-E09K.ico

Then:

Right Click the volume control in the notification area and select Playback Devices.

You can also rename the Speaker to FiiO X3 or whatever you choose.

Click on the Speaker Interface (FiiO X3) and select Properties.

On the properties dialog screen click the Change Icon Button.

Select the saved Icon file below and hit OK.

Much nicer IMHO.
