The Fiio X3 Thread. - Page 565

I received my x3 this past saturday from amazon. I too ordered the one with the cables and memory card. Coming from the rockboxed clip I can't help but wonder why when im skipping tracks and I go back then go forward it jumps like 2 or 3 songs . i believe it only happens when i shuffle ( deal breaker #1) Also curious to why it takes so long to actually skip to the next track(deal breaker #2). After being spoiled by the rockboxed clip I now have to get use to this new sound (without any eq bands) which I'm finding pretty hard at this moment I'm thinking maybe it's my headphones im using. I have the xb90ex and xb1000. Maybe I'm using the wrong headphones? Any help with this prob I would appreciate it. I'm going to try and hang onto it for another week or so not wanting to make the giant jump into the f887 or zx1 sony players just yet because of the price but it's an option.

If you're coming from EQ it's going to take some adjusting, a couple of days. I went from Cowon players using large amounts of Mach3bass and BBE, I was colouring the signal quite a lot. When I first went to player with no EQ it sounded awful, veiled and blanketed. After a few days putting up with it I adjusted though it wasn't easy and I almost gave up a few times. Once I did adjust I found a new light to my music so I suggest you persist. I don't use any EQ anymore, I mean if the majority of members here don't use EQ there must be something in right? The mind is very powerful thing and it will take time to adjust. I suggest using lower volumes at first.

Thanks guy!! Exactly what I need to hear. Indeed to get out of that eq habit I guess.

Well, even though I don't eq my music when I listen most of the time. But I do when a noisy bus going back home just to get a bit more bass out of my er4s to make up for the loss due to the ridiculous amount of noise. I guess eq is pretty useful in many ways but well.... I will say why eq your music when you can listen to the original :D "Nothing beats the original"

Totally agree. Coming from Cowon J3 as well. With Mach3Bass max and 80Hz level 10 and BBE 9. But after going to X3 and DX50 without EQ I was astonished by how natural they sound as compared to heavily EQed J3.

if you are planning to adapt to the natural sound of the music ... i would suggest you to :
1- use quality recordings and at least 320 mp3s quality or flacs
2- it is time to get a quality multi armature iem on the neutral to the bright side as X3 has a little hefty low end
or easy to drive quality headphone

Hello all!

I just received my Fiio X3. I turned it on and found everything in Chinese. The so called manual did not help me. What do I need to get everything in English? What specific button presses, please?

In English, language settings are found in the bottom menu, first item (starting after turning on device)

When you first turn it on it should give a menu to select the language. Did you buy new or used?

Anyways if you can get into the main menu, scroll to the last selection (system settings). Click it (ok button).

it should go to another menu screen. Click the first selection (this is the language menu).

Now scroll down and click the 3rd selection, that should be English.

<edit> do make sure the hold switch is off. A few people have been tripped up by that the first time they turn it on.

Everything is in Chinese. I get no menu to select language. This must be a used item from Amazon on a return I hope the person did not return it due to malfunction.

My question is what button do I press to get into the main menu screen?

Thankyou!

I had the same issue when I received mine!  At that time someone walked me through resetting to English. Hopefully your menu item order match mine - so give this a try. Go to the main menu.  The last item should be the System Settings.  After selecting that the first item in the next menu should be Language.  Select that - you should see English in the resulting list.  Hopefully that does the trick for you.

Sorry - upper left button to get to the main menu.

Press back button, until you see menu page.

Press back track button (arrow down) to the last menu item

Press ok button

Then you will see "Language" in the first row

Press ok

select language by using arrow down key

That's all

Or may be you try to reset it, there is a small hole for reset on top

Yes! The d*mn thing works! How long before it is charged enough to load music on it? Do I move the music by album per folder to retain an album structure to the way it is presented to me?

Thanks allot!

I don't think that the reset button will "reset" the language. He could always do a firmware update. That way he'll definitely get a language selection menu on first boot. Otherwise your directions are spot on.

r010159. just remember to select the last choice on the first page, 1st choice on the second, and 3rd choice on the third. When you turn the X3 on it should default to the main menu.
