Huh, never really thought about that... I assume that if the CPU is working harder, than the battery life will be impacted. But I doubt it's that much.

Here is a SMIC E17 with AKG K702 package, there is a D3 SMIC pacakge with those cables as well. I believe the SMIC is bundled SMI brand Cable's...

Hi guys,
Just a reminder that you can post your suggestions and bug reports to the new bugzilla site
https://app.devzing.com/FiiO/bugzilla/
It's easy to create an account there. After you have created an account and logged in, click on "My Bugs" at the lower left corner to see all bugs / suggestions submitted, ordered by number of votes. Click on a bug to see its details and vote for it if you agree with the suggestion or have the same problem. If you don't see your issue listed, you can create your own bug smile.gif

Hi, i would like to ask two questions:

1. Any chance on better lyric support in future X3 fw?

my opinion: ideal would be, if you could just go into song menu (songs operations menu) and there would be a lyric button, which would open lyric for currently played song. It wouldnt be synchronized with song. Just simple text you could scroll down and up. (if this comes true, i would like if during reading lyrics my display wouldnt go off no matter what settings)

2. Is there some way to hide extensions (.flac, .mp3 etc.) from displaying? Maybe this could be a little improvement in the x3 future as well?

Yes I got the same deal with 64GB card and cables. It is an excellent deal considering the card is $45. The Monoprice cables aren't bad either. I had to upgrade the FW but other than that, have been thoroughly impressed. The navigation could use some improvement. Other that I couldnt be happier.

Just got my X3.  Impressed!  A few quirks, but for me it's all about the sound.  Very impressive with my DT990's!

Can someone (Joe?) please let me know what the odds of some kind of an eq being added is?

I see it being talked about, but haven't found that it might/likely/will/fat chance happen.

Also, is there a way to have one button press activate the control?  Or, is it always (one press wakeup) (next press activates the button)?  I know I could just keep the screen on, but trying to save battery life.  It'd be nice to be one press work, and not work when "hold" on.

Guys, I have a bit of hearing problem in my left ear so I use the X3 balance to even it out. But if I connect the x3 to amp using line out the balance don't work anymore. So would a amp work well if I use it via headphone out with the x3 at 55/60 volume?

I actually ended up buying Tag&Rename after trying it out and being impressed. It seems to work well - at least when I scan the album covers of CDs I've ripped to the X3. Under those circumstances, the results are consistently excellent and using the Multi file option I can embed the cover graphic into all the tracks (files) from the CD in one operation. However, I have also bought files from an on-line source where the album data (notes and cover graphics) are downloaded with the music but as a separate PDF file.  The graphics can easily be isolated from the notes and saved as a JPG file BUT if I use the same technique as I use with my CD cover scans to embed such a graphic into the music files, I don't see the picture on the X3 when I play the music. The resolution of the graphic is less than that of the CD cover scans but in all other respects there seems to be very little difference between the specifications of the two, so I'm really puzzled about this.

Any suggestions much appreciated, Thanks.

I've solved the problem. What I neglected to mentioned earlier was that when I isolated the graphics from the rest of the data (notes etc) in the music downloads, I immediately noticed that the pictures were huge so I down-sized them so that they approximated to the sizes of the CD cover scans.

Unfortunately, I had failed to notice when I went ahead to embed the pictures that I was attempting to enbed the originals - Tag&Rename was apparently also extracting them from the various EDF files for me - rather than my resized ones.

Once I realised what was happening I was able to use the correct pictures for embedding and they are now being displayed on the X3 screen. It's amazing how easy it is to miss the obvious.

Congratulations JohnMarch!

I own Tag&Rename as well and it is the best of them all. I always make sure there is a jpg of the album artwork or whatever picture you want associated with the music in the directory with them called Folder.jpg and I keep the size at 500x500. Tag & Rename will see this file by default and you can add it to all the songs. If your downloaded music has embedded artwork that is too large you can save the artwork out with the multifile edit. This will create the Folder.jpg for you that you can manually resize. Then I just use multifile edit again to remove the large artwork and add the new one.

Great program for macro style editing as well since all the fields have a %ID it is easy to pull tags from file names or totally rearrange them if they are wrong without having to retype all the info. The get track info and artwork from all the different Amazon's works great too.

Enjoy Tag&Rename and having your artwork finally displayed. smily_headphones1.gif

Yes indeed, some run it that way as the line out can be too high for certain devices. You might not need the volume that high but you will know once you hook it up. smily_headphones1.gif

Thanks, TD. I can't agree with you more; I found Tag&Rename a joy to use from the very start. I set the size of my pictures slightly larger than you do (mine are around 700 x 700 - just figureselected by chance, actually) and I keep the jpgs in the same folders as the corresponding music files. The pictures I extracted from the EDFs I mentioned are initially of the order of 2000 x 2000 pixels and I suppose I should have been suspicious earlier as I had to add the pictures from the relevant folder when I had scanned them, whereas Tag&Rename was obviously doing that for me automatically with the extracted pictures and they were already present.

I still had four pictures to re-embed into their respective music files and that was successfully accomplished earlier this morning, using the resized pictures.

I've had my X3 for a week now, and I just wanted to chime in and say that I absolutely love it. My Rockboxed Clip+ was on its last legs, and I'd been thinking of buying some kind of USB DAC. So, the X3 has been the perfect solution for me. It's definitely an upgrade to the Clip, and playing flac files from my MacBook is a whole new experience. I was kind of expecting to miss the customization that Rockbox allowed for, but all I needed to do was set the bass to -1, and my V-Moda M-80s have never sounded better. If you're like me, and looking for an all-in-one entry-level-ish DAP/DAC, I can guarantee you'll be happy with the X3. Next step...save up for a pair of HE-400s...

This was my approach. I just purchased an X3 and HE-400 and couldn't be happier smily_headphones1.gif

Well, maybe I could be happier with a shiny new X5 tongue.gif

Ordered an X3 off Amazon with that 64gb micro and cable bundle, should be here Tuesday, pretty excited.

Currently using an iPod Classic 160gb but I think a true DAP would be great

Anything that improves my JH11s I'm all for it smily_headphones1.gif
