no i didn't .....fiio x3 is my first entry to audiophile daps .... i wanted one player beside my ipod touch 4th gen....

why i picked x3 over ibasso dx50 :

1- its warm sound signature ( i hope it would sony like old sony walkmans and diskmans or such thing like that ) .....i like it more than all neutral and slightly bright one as people said there ...
2- its hardware eq ....that feature i loved alote ...it is bass and treble and i don,t need more than that

3- less output impedance ...that would pair will with my se535 or other iems i would buy ....
4- the firmware is better than th dx50 .. and support of fiio and (James fiio ) honesty here in this forum makes me want to give my money to fiio

5-last thing as it is not very important to me but it is also effective ...the price difference

I'm a bit lost here, I got the 2AM part, but not "between 2-5PM"?

Well, 2PM is another group name. I don't know if there was anything intended by 5PM, but After School Club does air at 5PM KST.

After some research K-Pop must be regarded as a rampaging harlot. I will continue the research

And the X3 Suckage begins...

Bass and Treble controls don't work with Line Out, so from an earlier post if you set the X3 to Low Gain and the volume at 60 it is supposed to give you an equivalent Line Out level from the Headphone jack. I really didn't want to hook it up that way but there is no other choice if I want any tone control.

This makes the Line Out jack totally useless for plugging into the E12 if I wanted to trim a little Treble away from my DT880's. The Line Out should have been designed as a Pre Out instead, since that would give the X3 more functionality.

Line out is not supposed to have any EQ or sound modifications. Can't blame Fiio here.

Not blaming FiiO...

The E17 has this functionality, I guess I just assumed the X3 would as well...

Do you guys experience the unit heating up while in use? Especially so in high gain settings..

Yes, the unit heats up. It's normal unless it actually burns.

If the unit is burning or seems 'inflated', please stop use of the unit and put it somewhere away from you in a safe location and contact FiiO support or whatever service seems appropriate at the time.

Besides that, yes, the unit heats up

Lol. That's scary. I presume it wouldn't reach the stage of burning. Just that if it's placed in the pocket it'll be uncomfortable. To think that putting on a silicone cover or something would accentuate the heating.

Yeah, it has gotten hot before. And it is within normal device functionality.

Most smartphones heat up to about the same degree. The specs of the X3 hardware wise to make it 'similar' to a smartphone in a sense that its not using whatever CPU SoC are in Sandisks and what not. So yeah, it does and will exhibit some of those infamous heatups that phones get as well.

For the most part, the device will not get to the stage of burning unless it was also indirectly or directly heated by another source.

I brought this down with me to Florida, and the sun can definaely increase the temperature if you expose the device to the suns rays.

*shrug* pocket warmer and good for Polar Vortex or for starting fires for survival or burning undead in Zombie apocalypse. Should be advertised feature.

If you would like to contact FiiO about additional features you have found within their device. Please contact them at support@fiio.net

..may be it does a grilled cheese sandwich...

Just to fan, ahem.. the flames we wouldn't want to draw attention to battery expansion caused by heat, charging etc and the possible impact on performance. No, no, no - not a good idea.
