Ordered mine from MP4Nation, they sent it this morning via FedEx and tracking shows I should have it on Monday the 13th.

It would have come tomorrow but the shipment arrived after the FedEx cutoff, which means it has been delayed. :(

My Tuff-Luv faus leather case that I won on eBay for £9.74 should be sent out today as well, and hopefully I will have it next week at some point. Maybe Tuesday or Wednesday.

Tracking:

Hey Somnath!
You will definitely not need the E11 at all, there is pleanty of power in the X3!

Congrats, the X3 is already a really nice DAP and a quite capable DAC as well, it can only get better with future FW updates.

The Tuff-Luv leather case looks like it's gonna work great for the X3, just wish they would have the flap open the other way as it might be somewhat awkward to open it when headphones are plugged in (at the top).

Thanks mate!

Yeah, really looking forward to seeing what all the fuss is about with regards to the amazing sound quality that the X3 provides without struggling in any way. I've also got the C&C BH amp but my educated guess is that I wont need it, which is great since DAP with built in amp is what I have been looking for!

The case should fit well, its the only other faux leather case that you can get for the X3 and I think it looks much better. Definitely seems to be made better!! Hopefully it fits like a glove, pics will be posted. ;)

Definitely, the X3's output is mighty strong for a built-in amp, the C&C won't be needed but might provide a bit of a different flavor, just to mix things up sometimes.

My experience with Tuff-Luv cases has been great so far, my case/cover for the Apple bluetooth keyboard is awesome. Looking forward to your impressions and pics of the case.

Ah thats excellent to hear mate, exactly what I have been looking for! My ancient Sony Walkman needs to be retired ASAP as I noticed its having difficulty driving my new JVC HA-S680 at higher volume levels. Not to mention sounding congested at times, as well as having only 4GB of space!!

Exactly, I think that's part of the reason why the X3 sounds better compared to something like the Fuze or Clip+/Zip or Sony (apart from the better DAC), more power and the higher voltage swing makes most of the headphones/IEMs I've tried perform better on the X3, even the ones that are relatively easy to drive. It's a subtle difference at first but the more you use it you'll notice the increased detail and better handling of the bass frequencies for example. Basically for the same reason why people use external amps with other players which is not necessary with the X3.

I reckon your JVC HA-S680 should pair nicely with the X3. My JVC HA-S500 sound really good with it.

Another thing I'd like to ask is if the X3 can accept voltage from USB 3.0 sockets.

I plugged my X3 into a USB 3.0 socket to use it as a DAC, and I got horribly choppy audio sounds.

(maybe due to high voltage, as USB 3.0 ports have much more voltage / current? I might be wrong, but it does seem like my phone charges faster when plugged into my USB 3.0 socket..)

Voltage for both USB 2.0 and 3.0 (and 1.0 for that matter) is 5V, only the current is different 500mA for USB 2.0 vs. 900mA for USB 3.0 (and 150mA for USB 1.0). This is why charging your phone is faster on a USB 3.0 port.

Yeah I think DAP + intergrated amp is the way forward! I know people moan about firmware bugs and whatnot but to be honest FiiO has done an incredible job getting this product designed and released. Especially considering its at a much better price than the competitors, like the iBasso DX50 for example.

I was going to buy it at launch but didin't really have enough cash to spend on a new player but now I have its my DAP of choice!

I have around 1,000 mp3 files, all songs be

taged album, artist, genre, etc as "MP3". No track number tag at all. I will play this files randomly during my working hour as background music. So it is easy to me to select Album -> MP3 -> Play Random

I want to manage folder of my music file in very simple way like below

http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/mikroski/Misc/0715.jpg

Question is

1. Will X3 has problem to play one folder contain with 1,000 files, no track number?

2. Will X3 has problem for folder arrangement as 100 folders in root directory?

Thank you for any input :)

I think, my X3 has arrived and is waiting at the post office. However I can't seem to be able to find my micro sd card reader, that small bastard is hiding or lost somewhere tongue.gif. Guess I'll have to do a workaround and move the files to my laptop, and use the inbuilt sd card slot through using an adapter. Well, it's either that or wait until I buy a new card reader tongue.gif.

Edit: Nope, No X3 today tongue.gif. Only a Hario Skerton tongue.gif

@simcon: you can also put the card into the X3 and then plug the X3 into your computer using its USB cable: both the X3s internal memory AND the microSD card will appear as drives on the desktop.

Thanks. I'll check it out, also i think fiio announced something similar to this in this thread before. I'm wondering what happened that case.
