yes. Just found Minidisc.com.au, they seem to offer said securities. (ahh, how I remember my sony portable minidisc recorder!)

Luckily, I am "blessed" with some time at the moment, so I can check all my tags and images, I'm pretty uptight about that anyway.
I must be mad, but my ears are 51 years old....they deserve 24/192. Its the 21st century after all!

Thanks. Ill keep you posted.

*sniff* that was so beautiful, I too am getting a bit crinkly.. bro, group hug? Keep the younger whippersnappers in line"?

Squinting no longer works, I have to use my old great grandmothers looking glass, the body is failing, I'm getting more forgetful? The police have to take me back home, where am I? What is a "DAC"? Why can't I get wax cylinder media replacements for my wind-up player, it was such the thing before World War 1?

Surely it's not that much to ask? I just see more and more products being released that just don't work sensibly.....which means you (we) are getting ripped off. Seriously, has this just become accepted behaviour out there? Or is it just a very few units (worrying enough).

Does it actually work? Properly?
And if it does - anyone know of an Australian dealer, so I can legally return it if its busted?

Sincerely,
VERY Confused of Darwin.

I'm enjoying music through X3's USB DAC function right now. Mine works fine. It had some freezes before, but I found out that was because I run/jog without locking the X3. So I just lock it whenever I move and problem solved.

I use a Sandisk 32GB mSD class 10 card, the most popular one if you search on Amazon and have no issue. The card already came with FAT32, so I didn't have to reformat or scan for errors. I drag and drop about 100 files at a time, do a library update, then repeat until I got all my music in the X3. Each updating process usually takes less than 30 sec.

I use Mp3tag and Tagscanner to tag my music. The X3 can recognize all the files, correct tags and album art. A minor thing I don't like is I turn gapless playback off to prevent possible issues, so I have to wait for several seconds between songs.

I'm going to try this since it's the only problem i have with my X3 so far. I had no problems with the files as others. Like you, i only move small amount of files at a time and all files showed up in X3 perfectly. I never use Auto tag and manually tag all my music with dBpoweramp tag editor as soon as i rip them. I think most of the problems in this thread can be solved by properly tagging their files.

I have a similar experience. My X3 is very stable. I also use a Sandisk 32GB UHS1/Class10 MicroSDHC. I don't have a fixed method of moving files to it, sometimes I just leave it in the X3, sometimes I use the cardreader on either one of my laptops. And my laptops are running different OSs. One runs Win 7 Home Premium 64bit, the other runs the latest release of Netrunner linux. I use both flac & mp3 files, some of the flacs are over 1GB (Mahlers' 6th in 192/24). And I'm pretty inconsistent in my tagging. And yet the only issue I have with my X3 is that I can't get it to use cue files properly, which isn't a really big deal as I can use cuesplitter to create separate files and then use the gapless feature of the X3 (which I haven't had any problems with so far).

No wait,I had another problem... the silicone case ripped (look a few pages back in this thread :))

Mine too is in a pretty bad shape. These silicon cases are not very durable for my daily use. I somewhere saw a leather X3 case and I really want one of them.

Wow this thread has 515 pages, and 7721 posts.
Amazing.

Anyway, just checking with everyone, when you plug in your X3 into your USB port to use it as a DAC, does anybody hear clicking sounds from the player itself?

Another thing I'd like to ask is if the X3 can accept voltage from USB 3.0 sockets.

I plugged my X3 into a USB 3.0 socket to use it as a DAC, and I got horribly choppy audio sounds.

(maybe due to high voltage, as USB 3.0 ports have much more voltage / current? I might be wrong, but it does seem like my phone charges faster when plugged into my USB 3.0 socket..)

When I went back to my USB 2.0 socket, the problem disappears. Any idea anyone? @_@

Finally, any upd
ate on the fonts being standardized so that even Korean Chars can be shown in English Language setting? (Since Japanese and Chinese Characters can be shown in English Language setting, I'm guessing Korean should be able to as well. In Korean Language setting mode, all chars can be shown, be it English, Japanese Characters and Korean Characters.)

Any comments on vendors before I commit my sanity to a bucket and go to paypal?

Thanks smily_headphones1.gif

I bought mine from addicted to audio www.addictedtoaudio.com.au/‎ no problems with them or the X3, I see their ad on this page - they had good customer feedback when I checked. Ordered one day received the next securely packaged.

The clicking noises from the player seem to be a normal occurrence, they also sometimes happen when used as a DAP. So far I haven't seen a statement by Fiio if that's something to worry about.
