What am I looking for when I'm going to buy an external battery? Any suggestions on good value ones from ebay? What are the rest of you guys using, are you able to manage well without one?

Monoprice has a variety of good options available and reasonable prices. You might be able to find one that suits your specific needs there. They often even go on sale for a bit cheaper if you check their once a day.

If you don't plan on using the X3 for more than 8-10 hours a day, then you probably won't have to worry about getting an external battery.

I find that I use my portable players about 2-3 hours a day tops. So normally I can go about 3 days before charging. Sometimes I forget that it's low and forget to charge, in those cases it could be useful to have an external battery around to tide me over for the day.

(Probably worth adding is that I live in Sweden and thus options for international shipping is a must)

You'll want a battery pack that is capable of outputting 2A so it will recharge the X3 faster.

I hardly ever use my external battery with my X3. Probably because I'm never away from a power outlet that long, and even if I am, I can recharge my X3 in my car.

It seems that I could pick up one from a Swedish store for about $80 (GP GL301) (Most other available options doesn't seem to be worth it)... or I can hope for the best and buy one from ebay for about $20 - $30, and since I'm not going to use mine too much, I guess that's the better choice.

I'm probably only going to bring the battery pack to go with the X3 when I travel and currently that isn't too frequent, it's more as a insurance that I'm not without power tongue.gif.

Edit: Might have found a middleground and a battery pack at a decent price from amazon.co.uk, might be a better solution. Thanks for help regarding the pack smily_headphones1.gif, I'll probably be back once the X3 itself arrives wink.gif.

Hi,
As my last post, I was having problems with X3 Library scan.
I was not seeing the Artists, Albums etc in the category... I was seeing the Albums only inside the folders.
I tried many things, but end up formating the SDCard using the formater inside the player.
I re-imported the files, and now I can see the Artist Album structure, but the tracks are missing (I still can see it inside the folders).
Any help will be wellcome
Thanks
Antonio

Not sure how much this will be off-topic, but I have been enjoying my X3 a few weeks from now. However, a new 64 gig Sandisk MicroSd arrived this morning and I had been copying music for hours onto it. Now I just put it into the X3, refreshed the library and now when i try to enter the card it says "Playback Failed File Not Found". It's more than frustrating to say the least. Any idea, experiences with this problem?

The only thing I can think of is that maybe you didn't format the card properly. How did you do it?

Speaking of cards...if anyone is looking for some cheap storage, there is currently a lightning deal for a 32 GB MicroSDHC card on Amazon. It would be neat if they had sales for the larger cards, though...

Will X3 support play from folder? I never use those artist, album tracks etc. I prefer browse folder, and play.

Yep. Has a file browser mode. I use it exclusively.

bestbuy had a good deal of 64 gig MicroSd cards for 35$ I ordered from there. Just got done with the formatting with a program I found called SmartDisk_FAT32_tool. Now copying back the music we will see! Thanks for your reply though!

Sometimes I find after switching cards I need to update the library twice in order to get all the tracks sorted out.

I'd have to second using the built-in format feature. I used a third-party program, but I had the wrong settings the first time so I ended up wasting time writing files to a card format that the X3 wouldn't read.

Most if not all 64GB microSD cards are formatted using exFAT, because they're usually used in cameras. Any formatting program (including Windows itself) can reformat it as FAT32, but I agree with the other posters that the format software built into the X3 is the best way to go.
