Personally i think that to enumerate the list at all just head-fi is fine, but to do anything else like prioritize, head-fi will not be sufficient.

I suggest we start here. This could still be changed if more and more bugs turn up. But you have people from all over the world here, head-fi is THE (now I did it like you ;)) one place for people to stop by for all things FiiO.

I can recommend a recording by Telarc... fabulous interpretation and equally dynamic.

It's the 2007 Hickox / LSO recording on Chandos. Thanks for the Telarc tip, will check it out.

Its unintuitive to use the X3, regardless of how good it might sound. Currently it looks like the developers are more interested in playing tai chi with themselves than with users.

I fully support your point shrimants. And I think I was actually the first (or one of the first) to highlight these 2 problems with "Artist" playback from day 1

I love the sound of this player, but it's always a pain to get to the album you are looking for.

By the way Joe, do you think i would be possible to display also the "Album" tag in the playback window ?

So far we have Artist, song Title & Track number, but I think "Album" is another key info to show when playing a song (especially when shuffling).

Thanks

Happy X3 user, skim this thread from time to time, don't have the time/patience to review all 429 pages. Have similar tagging issues. Haven't gone back to retag with any software, maybe I should. Have a mix of FLAC, Apple Lossless, and WAV for the most part. I find I can't rely on Artist, Album, or Genre, I generally go in through the file section and find the music, most of which is on my memory card. I generally rip my own CD's, initially did this with JRiver, used the program to send it to the memory card. Things wound up there badly named, out of order, annoying. That's when I started using iTunes, at least the albums stay in proper order. I rip, then find the files in Windows Explorer, then drag them to the microSD card. I'm sure there are better ways to do this...maybe I just have to get used to using some tagging program to clean it up. Do manage to get to everything by file search, and think the sound is really nice (mostly use it with line out to ALO National Amp). Tips would be appreciated (read the whole thread would not be a helpful tip, even if it's true). Thanks.

Thinking of starting a X3 bugfix / feature request thread. How does the head-fi polling system react to addition of new items to a poll? Does it preserve the number of votes on existing items or does it wipe all the data every time the poll is changed?

You might want to have the other one closed then, to avoid confusion.

I would just be happy to be able find where I left off. You back out of your song to adjust a setting and you cannot find where you left off. Im sure this has been mentioned before a gazillion times.

Joeblogg should start a new thread, close the other one, and actively maintain and reserve the first few posts for the poll on what bugs need work, what features need to be added, and general discussion of usability.clearly the interface and usability is a huge concern to the users but it looks to me like developers are mainly concerned with sound stuff.

Sorry for the delay in responding - this is what I have:  http://www.belkin.com/us/p/P-F5U237/  - obviously it is not portable, but it is what I had.

You might check out what other folks are doing in this thread: http://www.head-fi.org/t/682222/ios7-iphone-and-apple-cck

I've been using the new E18 with my stock ipad mini (mine is retina with IOS 7.0.4) with no issues (I am using a lightning to 30 pin with a 30 pin apple cck to the E18; i assume the lightning cck would work also, but can't personally confirm).  This also works on my ipad 2 and my wife's iphone 5 (this is new with the iphone on IOS 7 - usb dac works ... see http://www.head-fi.org/t/682222/ios7-iphone-and-apple-cck).

I have also used my mini with the X3 if you put a powered hub in the middle (cck to powered hub to x3) - but I am not going to carry around/mess with a powered hub.  Stock ipads with CCK and powered hubs have worked with most usb dacs (that require too much power) for a while now.

I'm not sure about this but in case of the latter, one thread per official FW release will be good. Something like "Bugs remaining since FW2.05"?

(Interested in this even though I still don't have the X3/X5 or the DX50... Lol)

I've installed 128g SD memory on my X3.
All functions ok...

This is head-fi, all you need is one option on it for people to vote for, that reads:

"I would like the moon on a stick. Not a cardboard moon, the actual moon"

:D

Single thread per firmware version seems like a good idea.
