Categories > metal, Categories > jazz, categories > EDM.

This will play everything of one genre.

Alternatively: create a playlist (.m3u) of your music and use that for your specific listening sessions.

@gregc, i just have things tagged normally and use whatever file name it came with when i acquired it. That way i can either play individual albums in track order via browse or i can play the clusterf*** of songs from category view. I feel like it would be super fantastic if you could long-press the play button on a folder in browse mode and have that queue up songs. So that way if I want to listen (in album/track order) to 2-4 different artists, i could just long press the play/pause/ok button and have it consecutively add folders. Or for the multi-disk albums i could easily queue them up without interrupting the music between plays.

FiiO HAS to add this feature and this is urgent. All the other most important brands have it.

I have my sony player with me for 5 years..maybe I need to check the settings again? :|

I ordered one and you could tell immediately not only by the rubber smell but by looking at it. I also separated a piece and it was obvious the piece I separated was bonded fake leather. Very disappointed considering the cost.  I really like Fiio products and the X3 is a great digital player. They should not advertise the case as (genuine leather) if it isn't. I did check on the Fiio webpage to make sure it wasn't counterfeit. Hope this helps others that are thinking about purchasing this case. If you don't mind paying that much for bonded pleather it will protect the player.

About the leather case for X3, please noted. leather case does not means the whole case is made by leather, below is the material and what it worked for.

The first layer of surface is genuine leather.

To ensure the surface will not be out of shape, PVC plastic slice as the second layer which is used for finalizing the design.

In order to increase hardness of the PVC plastic slice, we use the waterproof paper as the third layer.

And the fourth layer is black velvet to avoid any scratches.

BTW, we known few about the leather cause we  asked other help us to produce it. but we will never try to lie to customer for what it is made.

I got mine just now. Using it with an AMP. More interested in DAC functionality. If someone can ping me the beta firmware, I will directly upgrade to that.

All we need is time , we are busy in the new firmware for X5 and the improvement for X3. the new X3 firmware will support 192k/24b USB DAC, Gapless in other playback mode, format the TF card in X3.

I know you guys sometimes have very good idea and some requirement , but we have plan about the firmware and need to do it step by step.

If I were James, I'd make sure not to add that feature just to make him go away.

please understand our situation that there are too many detail to be improve and we need to solve them one by one. and everyone can see the firmware improved a lots them the first version.

Don't worry about it James, the guy just doesn't realize that the feature is already there in category view. He is wanting the feature in browse mode. I personally would be upset if I asked to play a folder and the player didn't just stop but instead kept playing and draining the battery.

Hi,

I'm a new member, and have a question regarding the Fiio X3, which I just purchased. My music collection is almost entirely classical music, all ripped from CDs into FLAC format. However, because my collection is considerably larger than what would fit on a 64gb micro SD card, I have encoded all of my music into MP3 format. Now all my music fits onto a micro SD card, but gapless playback is not working 100%. There is a slight hiccup (but no pause) in playback going from one track to the next (for tracks that should have no gap between them). This did not happen with the few FLAC albums I loaded onto the card as a trial. With those, the gapless playback was perfect. I am using the latest firmware (1.31), my files are tagged meticulously using MP3 Tag, I am using the categories feature (not browser mode), and I have updated the library several times. Has anyone else encountered this issue? And if so, have you found a workaround?

Thanks,

Philip

Gapless playback issues are a known problem and should be fixed in the upcoming firmware updates.
