had you check the " hold switcher " ?

Also I am very sorry about your E6, but we had sold out more than 200,000 pcs and found there are some fake E6. in fact, there are hundreds of fake E6 returned to us for warranty service. :(

I also recommend re-installing the firmware.

A quick search of this thread would have revealed the answer - it's yes and expected in one of the next two firmware updates, the first being expected around Oct. 15th.

Hi James,

Thanks for responding.  I checked and you were right, the Hold button was set and I was able to use the selection arrows after moving the Hold button off.  I am impressed that the CEO of a company would take time to answer my concern and provides me a viable solution.

As far as the E6, I checked the Authenticity and it was valid according to your site.  I think this just happened to be a rare case of a faulty battery for the E6.  I liked how it worked with my Sansa Clip+ for the few hours it functioned, so that helped me decide to try the E07K.  The E07K sounded impressive as a headphone amp and USB DAC.  I decided to return it and get the X3 after I read that the X3 would not only serve as a high-rez player, but it would also work as a USB DAC with a future firmware upgrade.

I have tried a few songs and the X3 sounds amazing, even without any break in time.  It seems like gaplesss works with Category view, but not with Folder Browse view.  I also see the cover art shows for some tracks and is missing for others.  I will change my file names to work optimally with the Folder Browse view and clean up tags.

Thanks for providing such as impressive device at an affordable price point.

Just did a quick kinda cool DIY startup screen and shutdown screen and battery mod for the X3

http://youtu.be/fYc_iK5_Uvc

The files I modded for start and shut screen are shown here:

Let me know if anyone needs a quick diy on how to access, unpack, repack and do some basic modifications of files. I'll make a video

anyone can make a X-MEN theme, like this one, I think it will be very cool for X3 but we can't do that cause the copyright.

will like to see more detail and change , the font, icon, and color all can be changed.

I am still working through all the files and modifying them.

I am not very good at graphic manipulation so I'm only changing minimal things as a way to personalize some aspects of the device.

I am looking forward to everyone modding and getting creative with the X3!

Thank you very much James for providing this tool set for the users.

The download may be intimidating and hard for some users to use, so if there is a need, I will make a basic youtube video on how to do it.

If you need more help, I made the video on how to do it step by step as many have problems doing it step by step or knowing where to start or where to end.

Hope this helps some people. Please watch in 1080p or else you can't tell what is happening

the "where to end" part already had me restore the device several times now. i'm trying to remove all language files, apart from the english ones, and at first it wouldn't show me anything on screen, now i managed to get it in chinese, and manually set it to english.

also editing everything possible of editing.

battery logos, textcolours, et al.

i'll watch your video later, after work.

thanks for your help :D

I have loaded a 64GB card with all my FLAC 16/44.1 files and i must say I am very impressed with the performance of this player.  If Fiio can get the gapless play to work in folder browse mode and release the USB DAC functionality this player is near perfect for my needs.
