The Fiio X3 Thread. - Page 364

JameFiio; wanted you to know that you have another happy customer. Unfortunately I didn't get my hands on mine until 10 days ago but have been enjoying it since.

Your announcement that there is going to be a DAC function is really nice; hopefully you can get it going with the Note II. I know that you stated some Note II work with the E07k, but I never could get my combination going. However the E07k did get relegated to my HTPC where it does a wonderful job under OpenSuse 12.3. If the DAC functionality works on my phone you may lose out on a sale...of the E18. But then again, with as much travel as I have to take it may get purchased none the less just so that I always have something with some juice in the battery.

I also use your E11 and the RC-SE1. Both great products. The only thing I would like to request is that when you do release the E18 please include a right angle micro -> whatever the E18 uses. The L9 works really well as does the stock cable that comes with the E11. Hard to find OTG cables with those connectors.

Once again thanks for all the work that FiiO is undertaking for the community; especially for us who are more value oriented.

Ok, but I have my iP4s that's faster on iOS7, my (ex)gf's iP5 that's faster on iOS7, my entire pharmacy school (almost 300 varied iphones) who have reported faster speeds. I haven't tested my daily iP4 because I still need the jailbreak, but it has only gotten faster going from iOS 4 to 6.

As this is the X3 thread, I'm sure Fiio won't muck up their own OS on a current/semi-current device.

Indeed, iFail aside. I think we can sadly assume what ever they put it will be better than what came b4 it.

AFAIK there is no USB OTG for the X3.

As I do not have the correct OTG cable (only have a mini to a miro) I can not confirm though,

No problem. Just wondered if it were possible through a firmware update.

Really enjoying this player paired with my dt 990s.  Eagerly awaiting the gapless playback update.  Currently listening to some Porcupine Tree and it sounds fantastic. =D

And after all that, turns out the problem was the blasted card was fake! I figured that a Samsung card at comparable list price would be ok, especially from a seller with good feedback. Thanks to a card test, I found out that only 1 gb of space was actually functional! So 64gb holders beware!

Anyways, now I'm enjoying the X3 with my new HD650s and a JDS C5! Soundstage so wide I need binoculars and warmth so lush you could swim in it!

I had been procrastinating on upgrading the firmware on my X3 because of bad experiences I had doing this kind of update on my other player (can anyone say HiSound Studio Anniversary III 3 times fast?), which was an unpleasant experience. My X3 experience? Piece of cake. Easy, shockingly easy. Wow. Love this thing.

I remember it being mention earlier that it might be a possible update. Been wondering if it was still on the burner myself. A large chunk of my music already lives on an external drive, so if I could use an USB Y cable and my wall charger as a power supply (seen similiar contraptions for smartphones on other websites) then the X3 would make a sweet portable music server as well.

It should work given that your music has the correct id3 tags

thanks,

even though the album is gapless, there could be say 14 tracks

each one is numberd and ordered correctly - so this should work?

small world - see you're colchester as well smily_headphones1.gif

I believe as of now that hasn't been corrected. Right now you can only get gapless playback when using the Category < album option.

Umm...isn't that what the question was?
