I know that it was mentioned earlier, but can't find it. What program is best to format a 64gb card to fat 32?

Please use either of the method in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1773735

Blarg.

So I formatted my 64GB sandisk card to FAT using GUI format. That worked for my clip zip and for my j3. However when I put the card in the x3 and try to play it says "playback failed, file not found." It also shows that for the music stored on internal memory now too.

Help!

Can you browse the files using "Browse Files"?

looking at the 'info/storage' it shows 29.7gb used for my card which is correct. but a whole bunch of music is missing. done the update lib numerous times. done restore. split the original 'music' folder on my card into

music a-m

music n-z

with no joy. seems from roughly ''T' thru to 'Z' is missing. using 'browse files' everything is there. 100%

so what now?

yours, fed up.

thank you fiio and thank you firmware 1.31! my problem is now fixed and i love my x3 again!

no, that's the message I get when I try browsing. Even for files on the internal memory that play with the card out. Did I exceed a file limit or something like that?

If I recall, that error message was related to a corrupted database file which you can delete and then update lib again... assuming you have the new firmware installed.

Hmm... I wonder if its related to the fact that I get a message asking if I want to scan and fix my x3 when I plug it into windows 7.

edit: should I let Windows scan and fix my x3?

Sounds to me like the formatting process isnt being done correctly. Maybe use command line to do it?

Or maybe this utility: http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=197.

That doesn't matter. The album art needs to be in the tags for it to show up in the X3.
