i suspect there's a lot of metadata in the audiofiles then.
I hope FiiO can resolve your issue.

The other player where these files played gapless perfectly was an original creative Zen 4GB from 2007!

I have just completed the instructions sent from FiiO support, which i had high hopes for, but unfortunately it did not resolve my issue. Hopefully they will have more suggestions.

we are working in the gapless support issues, don't worry about it. X3 will worth every cent you paid.

Hi James, I'm not worried. Just trying to figure out my little mystery. I agree the X3 is worth every penny I paid for it, and then some.

Hi - I just received my X3.  My only experience to date has been with itunes.  So I used Max to transcode my music files to ALAC and they are copying onto my SD card.

But one album I copied across to the X3 internal memory. Sounds good! But problem - the track order of the album is all messed up.  The folder I copied went track 1-8, but on the device it is all out of order.

Probably going to have this issue will all 65gbits of files I am currently copying.

Can someone help me out as to how to get the tracks ordered correctly in the X3?

Sorry if this is a boring/obvious question

I think we need a FAQ for the benefit of newcomers.

We already have several FAQ threads for X3 at the Fiio forum. This is one of them: http://www.head-fi.org/t/676223/faq-and-advice-of-x3

I have followed that forum since the beginning.

There is still no organized FAQ.

Personally I don't require one, but we get folks here all the time asking "how do I do this" and a formal FAQ would help quite a bit.

Ideally Fiio should host one.

Can anyone compare the X3 DAC paired wit the iBasso T5 to other (higher priced) DAPs like AK100, DX100 and DX50?

I've been impressed with the X3. My gripes are pretty much all design/function related. Sound-wise, I find no real, court-admissable faults at all with it. I finally published my full review of it today after getting a few headphones properly compared. At the price it is sold at abroad, amazing deal. Truly amazing. I'm excited to see where Fiio takes this series and hope to see a much better control layout.

But I don't think there is a player that truly tops the X3 for features/price/size. Yes, you get a number of 'betters' in the top end HM series and top DX series' players, but in terms of raw performance, the X3 isn't touched by its direct price bracket competition.

After carefully watching the situation over at the DX50 thread. I just ordered the X3 off Amazon.com. Authorized Dealer fulfilled by Amazon that is. Anyway, I'm looking forward to it and joining the discussion as an owner now. :beerchug:
