And here is my review of the X3.

http://www.reddit.com/r/audiophile/comments/1lrzso/this_is_why_the_fiio_x3_sucks_and_always_will_suck/

Maybe if you act like an adult, FiiO will treat you like one. You sent an unprofessional e-mail with out any courtesy introduction or any signature. All you did was list a bunch of demands like a spoiled teenage brat would. You then get pissed off and then rant to get attention from multiple different places because you didn't get what you wanted.

I'm not a fanboy of FiiO and I even think their amps are over-hyped. I bought the X3 just out of curiosity. I don't think it's a great device but, their support team is pretty legit in my opinion. I had a battery issue and FiiO took the time to give me instructions on how to fix it with photos attached. There aren't many manufacturers that will go to that level to help their customers out. Hopefully if you change your attitude, you will get what you want.

I have done it with MP3Tag, which of course will tag more than just MP3 files. Although lately I have taken to just making multi-disc albums into one album....

Led Zeppelin's Physical Graffiti....

And the expanded Song Remains The Same soundtrack....

Why have I done this? So I don't have to be bothered after half the album is done.....I can listen to it straight through. I haven't made it all the way through my collection, but if I am bored and not sleepy, I will put a little time into it here and there.

Whether that setup would work on the X3, I can't be sure, since I don't have one...but it's nice on every other device I've used it on.

The email chain started on Facebook. I replied there and was told to send an email to support. I kept the email language as simple and organized as possible to prevent translation issues. My bad, won't be so considerate next time.

As for constructive suggestions, I have been using my 16 gigs card with mp3s and using browse mode. Its been doing the job but not the job I paid for. I can get a 64 gig card but with people's reports on here I'm not going to waste that money until it is confirmed fixed. Browse mode works fantastic for now.

Also, mp3 tag is a fantastic utility. Easy tag on linux.

Obviously our usages vary. I tend to put multiple disks in different subfolders because when I shuffle folders in Rockbox/Foobar I feel like one CD's length in a row is quite enough. Maybe I have shorter attention span than you do.

Anyway, I don't see why your recipe shouldn't work on the X3. It looks simple enough.

Does the X3 do oversampling on 44.1/48k content? If so, is it 2X or 4X?

Not sure if my question is relevant, but Manu's question points to it. It would be cool if one has control over the reconstruction filter rolloff, but I also understand that this is very "hobbyist."

to all our users and anyone who interested in our X3, we will list all the firmware bugs and some new features in next week, so you can know well what we will do to improve the user experience of x3 and what is

out of our ability now.  but please understand that we can promise all can be done on time. also we have tested the USB DAC in X3 , now it can play 192k/24b in asynchronous mode . need to install driver in Windows

but not in MAC. but we can release it right now cause still need more test .

BTW, we need more encouragement cause our team are really working hard to try to make the best products as we can. and we will release a new firmware in couple days. to be honest, I have see any other company

can work as our engineer, they are not working 12 hours several days, but almost all the days. don't blame me that I am a bad boss , because they also own the company and they known what user need.

Again, not matter who you are, manufacturer and the end user is equal .  it is not need to taught that someone will not win the others respect if he can't respect others。

Thanks for the information. Again, not a big issue for me, and I really appreciate your products (I own E09K, E12, and E17). By the way, your announcement of the X3 being a USB DAC too (one post above) means a lot to me! The X3 becomes an all in one solution for both DAP and PC playback. For me, it is all about weight, and the less to carry around, the better.

Thanks for this bonus feature in the near future. I still remember a couple of years back, 24/192 async USB DAC was marketed to be a more expensive feature than 24/96 USB.... I cannot believe we can now get it for free... you guys really work real hard to stay competitive....

Thank you James for the excellent work of your team. Your customer support is one of the best in the industry.
I used to own a "high end" portable DAP that was 4 times more expensive than Fiio X3, but that DAP's vendor couldn't even match 25% of your customer care. I am glad that I switched.

Did I see wrongly? USB dac feature coming soon? Wow it feels like you can do anything with just a firmware update on this nifty little player smily_headphones1.gif
post #4769 of 12951
does this mean it will be able to play music from PC through the X3?
James, while I have some complaints about the UI, this remains the best sounding player I have heard and the hardware is extremely well thought out. It can drive just about any headline I can throw at it given my wallet, and has both coax and line out. I'll re evaluate it as firmware updates roll out and once I see things getting fixed I'll start recommending it. It gets a 3.5 right now but from what I'm hearing about future updates it should easily be able to get to 5 Stars in my book. Keep up the good work, I'm just spoiled from years of ipod and rockbox usage and Android apps and expect a similar UI experience. Dont take it to heart.
