Does X3 with Ad8620 opamp still drive demanding iems like PFEs? So, do you think there will not be enough power?

If Fiio can offer different OpAmps options for X3 like VentureCraft or Hifiman for their devices, then it would be more exciting.
The OpAmps can be easily plug and unplug in the circuit board in X3.

new firmware 1.25 available now, our staff are working in the translation but you can download it from

http://www.fiio.net/UploadFiles/main/Images/download/X3FW1.25EN.zip

the detail content should be release on our website www.fiio.net. but the biggest improvement is

1, TAGs support for m4a music ( AAC, ALAC )

2, A blue Theme.

3, the sequence of the file is change from 1, 11, 12, 2, 3. 31, 32, 4 ... to 1, 2,3,4,11,12,31,32

4, better random play and cue support

5, some bugs about the music lib

6, some sound track can't be played now fixed.

I orderer this player just now, it should arrive on monday or tuesday.

But I'm a bit nervous. Will it be a good combination with the Sennheiser Momentum?

Is this better than Sony's A865 or Z1060?

Hi,

I'm one of the lucky ones from Germany who finally got his X3 after purchasing It in April 2013.
As a User of iTunes and IPhone with Apple lossless I'm missing some features within the X3 menu like showing the album artwork and some other.

Maybe I'm too stupid but I couldn't find out how to play all files from both the inside memory and the sdhc card.

When I want to play all files e.g. random play, It always plays the preinstalled Chesky files but not my music from the 64GB SDHC/TF card, where my Apple lossless files are located - because the built-in memory is too small.

Is It possible somehow or not? If not- couldn't this be implemented in a future fw-upgrade?
Sorry for some typos - Most of them are Apple-made. Thanks for some hints.

Sincerely
Theseus

I did, however it still doesn't seem to read the album artist tags, or show embedded album art on my ALAC files.
This problem could be on my side, so i'm going to try things out for a bit.

I've updated successfully. I'm using AAC (m4a) files and the tags are now being read and displayed on the "Playing" screen , however the files still aren't visible in the Categories view. However, a lot more of the few FLAC and MP3 files I have are now showing up so the fixes for large numbers of files on the SD card are probably working.

James: Should I be expecting my AAC files to show up in the media library? If not, will a future update address this now that it can read the tags? TIA.

Tags from m4a files will be displayed in the library, but if you remove the old library file, which is located in the root of your player.

If you save m4a files on microSD card, turn off the player, remove the microSD card, turn on the player and update the library, and then unplug the player, set the microSD card, and re-enable update the library. After that m4a files will appear in the Category.

Does the x3 play m4b (audiobook files)?  I'm guessing not.

MP3 users, stay at the original 1.23 firmware.

No problem for me, every day use, amazing sound... not blue just as expected.

Thank you James.

This should have enough power to run 32ohm cans well without an external amp right?
