Hmmm... Is the built-in disc utility from Fiio or from Mac?

It comes as an OEM software on Macintosh computers.

OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer and is usually valid only for physical parts.

Software made by the hardware brand itself is just referred to as first party software or most would just say'

'It comes with Mac computers'. As a way of saying that a software is first party or at the very least was given authorization by the brand to bundle their software with the system.

Ah I see... I guess those with 64GB cards will have to stick to the one folder trick I have been hearing about in this thread for now?

I want to hear from more people (at least 4) before I conclude that 64GB on X3 has a problem.

Keep in mind that most people are lurkers. And most will only post here (when a lurker) if they have an issue they run into. Most that run and have no problems will forget about this thread and won't bother to make an account and say ' wow this is nice'. So there will thus always be bias in terms of these threads always having issues, problems, RMA's and DOA's. Because people with problems are more often to post (a lot more) than people who got it and works.

Ouch, I have a 64GB microSD and was looking to buy the X3..I'll need to see if it works for others first.

You can count me as one (but I have not bought it yet) :D

I knew a few of us in other forums (HardwareZone) having similar issues...

Could anyone in this thread please let me know if this is supported by FIIO X3?

I am waiting for your response as I'm yet to copy all my files to SD card

Appreciate your inputs

Could anyone please help me out in this?

Mostly AAC and ALAC, as i've been using iPhones and iPods in the past 8 years.

I cannot say that I know if the x3 will read 'generic hierarchical'  but is there a reason you do not want to use the verbatim or GUI utilities to format to fat32?  Mine would not read the exFat format so I reformatted and reimported the music onto the SanDisk 64gb card and the X3 read the files and folders just fine.

No, it does not seem to widen the soundstage at all but the added clarity and neutrality make the two a nice pairing IMO.
