The Fiio X3 Thread. - Page 229

Good thing someone mentioned about a microsdhc a few pages back. For some reason I thought it was the bigger SD card.

I'm hoping this comes by next week and probably will pair with my UE Reference Monitors or JH5.

that means the x3 is not versatile to store a ton of music? Isn't there a skip feature where if you hold the scroll button long enough, it increases the step size of the search?

If you have "a 1000 albums" on your X3, then the bit rate your albums must be at must be pretty low.  At that point, why not just buy an ipod or some other product with a better ui?  The whole selling point of the x3 over another product is the hi-res/multi-format playback functionality where having hundreds and hundreds of albums on a microsd card won't really happen for most users.  There are other products that do the whole mp3 thing a heck of a lot better than the x3.

He may not have 1000 complete albums...

that's exactly what I meant.

Also, the X3 is a $200+ ticket item with expandable memory. Maybe 1000 is too big of a number. Even fitting 200 albums would be very hard to navigate through?

I am really new to all of this and one generation older than you guys in all likelihood :-)

Thanks,

Anyone would work right now

micro SD__ up to 64GB(no 128GB variant out yet, if it does come out, not sure it will work)

Class 4 and above should be fine.

That would be me. It's easy to forget to add the Micro word in front of everything. If one guy forgets and I don't correct them, lurkers and others that see it will also think it was the big SD card formats.

No increase step size

Use manual Browse Files folder creation to manage those 1000 albums.

If you need more info on how this works, what I am talking about then please read my review.

Yup, Disk Utility works like a charm. You just have to select "MS-DOS (FAT)" as the card file system. Memory units with more than 2GBs (or even lower, I don't remember) are automatically formatted to FAT32.

Most don't read the first page, the x3 product description on FiiO site, or any reviews before asking their questions on this thread.

Surely you jest??? Can anyone else confirm that it doesn't see music files more than 2 folders deep.

Which brings me to the point of ignoring any inquires about specs and features of the X3 from now. Because all this info is on the front page and product page.

I like to help people who help themselves to basic effort in finding info.

This will be my only post regarding this.

It is but I misread it as just SD. I did find it a bit strange since I couldn't find the slot for the SD on the pictures for the player :P
