Hopefully I'll get mine from Mp4Nation by next week! biggrin.gif

Next week? Dayam... Wonder why mp4nation is so late in getting their stock. Figured that such a big online seller that ships to multiple countries would get priority but apparently not.

Here's to hoping it gets to me by the 10th.

O2 is too big to carry around. :(

Is there any other great portable amp. you can recommend to enhance the sound (clarity + detail) in X3?

Boombobby, have you seen Panda's review? He discusses some amps and the x3 http://www.head-fi.org/t/671656/fiio-x3-review/60#post_9620077

The few portable amps I think that are worth carrying around with X3 are not on the small size either. If you want a really small amp than it is more likely going to be just sounding different (*no improvement) or worst, not as good as X3's headphone-out.

The smallest I'll go is probably Leckerton Audio UHA-6.MK2 with AD8610.

They are roughly the same size but UHA-6S.MK2 is more feature packed.

The Leckerton is a great amp (I used a Mk1 when I used a separate source and DAC/amp).

If current drive is important, the built in X3 amp has almost 7X the capacity.

I checked the Leckerton's website, I found there are 4 types of OpAmp.

So AD8610 is the best to go comparing to others if I prefer clarity and detail?

How  about?

OPA209AID
AD797ANZ
OPA627AP (need to add $50)

AD8610 is famous for being detail oriented. OPA209 is definitely not as detail as AD8610. Haven't tried the other two. Check the UHA-6S.MK2 discussion thread as I think they are discussing other opamp in there as well.

Wonder if the ADA4627 be a good choice for modding the X3?
