I would leave out the side slot for the TF card, and make the front have punched out holes for the 6 buttons + screen.
and maybe make it closeable on top?

Good luck on making an awesome case for an awesome DAP, James!

the hold of TF card will removed from the final production. and the first sample did have holes for 6 buttons but it is hard to press the button, now the sample already is the 3st version.

Hello, James -

I've been watching this thread with keen anticipation. I've never used a truly high-quality DAP, so I'm very much looking forward to the X3.

I was wondering if you might tell us about the factories that build the X3. Here in the U.S. we hear many horror stories about the conditions of manufacturing facilities across Asia, especially those in China. If I purchase a Fiio DAP, I'd feel much better knowing my dollars aren't supporting slave wages and toxic work environments.

Many thanks!

~Brian

In fact we are not like traditional Chinese company, our company owned by our staff ( of course not everyone because most worker just work not more than one year because they came from 1,000 miles away). and

the worker's salary is twice as the lowest salary which decided by the local Government. but  I need to admit that sometimes they have to work 10 hours per day but not everyday like me :) .

I can understand what you hope , the situation is not as horrible as you heard but of course it is not as good as what people can enjoy in U.S too.

If there are slave wages and toxic work environments, do you seriously think any person who runs that kind of company will tell the consumer about it? That will be very silly of him/her.

However, there are some inconvenient points.
I am poor at english, so I hope your generosity.

1. Jump to the next scroll page in track list.

2.Choose back button's function- former page or upper root

3. In folder browser, support gapless/ shorten delay when manually skip track.

4. If one folder's play is over, jump to the next folder automatically.

5. Support all languages in track list- irrelevant with selected language.

Thank you for reading and have a nice day!

Re 4: There is no option to automatically play the next folder? I really hope that gets added via FW. And James while you're at it, please also provide an option to automatically switch to a random folder (ie shuffle folders). Thanks!

You take the same gamble with every item you buy that is made in China, and for that matter many other countries as well.

Take the highly regarded, by many anyway, apple iphone/ipad etc.

James, you do what you gotta do.  I'll buy anything as long as it's got good value, even if the workers get paid only 1 yuan per month!

I have seen some of the electronics assembly lines in China. There are good and there are bad. Most all of the companies that make components hire these assembly lines to do the work of production vs prototype work. The line can be hired for a few days or whatever is needed to get the production done. Then your material is returned to you and the next companies items are lined up and assembled. Some have normal work breaks and meal times and some push more. Some provide incentives towards quality work and some don't. The better companies provide this. If something is returned due to a QC problem, the SN can trace the item back to who assembled and who inspected.
