I agree with tomscy on how the typography could be improved! Heres a fiio x3 menu redesign with subjectively better typefaces that I made a few minutes ago. Hope the future UI might look something like this? Nice, really easy to read, easy on eyes, etc? biggrin.gif

That looks like the latest firmware which is supposed to be released with the new batch in July

We plan to release the 1.1 firmware on 1/7/2013 and you can download it on our website. below is some design pictures of the new UI,  and there are some new features of new firmware.

Am I able to get it from someone earlier than 7/1? I plan on reviewing the X3, and I have a feeling reviewing with FW1.1 will yield a better result than if I used FW1.0 to review...

The updated UI is looking quite a bit better, especially with regard to readability. I would still suggest altering the typeface, at least to optimize its kerning, widths, and spacing. Those very small details contribute a lot to the overall comfort in reading text on a screen. Subpixel rendering contributes a lot to increasing the apparent smoothness of the text, and that's not so difficult to implement with the many OpenType fonts out there in the ether.

Brandon Grotesque would be an excellent legible sans serif typeface for the x3, this looks so much cleaner and more professional...
