From the choices you listed, I think you made the right choice in picking the Sennheiser Momentum.

Could you be a little more specific and tell us which model Momentum you have..  bluetooth, or noise-canceling, etc..

Nope, that was just showing my "novice status".. :dt880smile:

I was think that the senniersur 550X and the Momentum were one in the same.  In fact, I listed what I was asking about, i.e. "bluetooth or noise cancelling".. If I am not mistaken, you did included bluetooth head phones in your choices too.

Again, no joke, I am just a newbie.. I am assuming from your comments these are not bluetooth?

Yeah I see your confusion...
Momentums have two wired versions the on ear and over ear...
The on ear one has  a darker tone than the over ear and the on ear uses alcantara pads instead of the leather ones in the over ears...
I added the mdr-1rbt because you could also use that in a passive mode and I was wondering if they sounded anything like the normal 1r...
Among the the headphones I mentioned here just the 1r has a Bluetooth, noise-canceling and passive variant all others are passive...

Im also a newbie to this...

I've just recently started collecting so don't worry about it...

Happy Listening!!!:beerchug:

Two newbies going for the cheese... Can't get any better than that..:beerchug:

ON my side, I strictly bluetooth. Also, in researching the Sony MDR 1R series, I have found that Sony has done a backup step and came out with a MK2 version.  That means all the cons that were prevalent in the Sony MDR 1R series, were corrected in the MK2 series..

Just like you, I just started collecting too, and IMO, for what I need, I made two good choices.

I got the Sony MDR 1RBTMK2 and the Harman Kardon BT. Got good prices on both, and both of these have the aptx coding to work with my Samsung Note 3 and Note 10.1 which have aptx...

Trying to see what my 3rd pair will be...

BTW, they both are capable of Hi Res Audio too.

Cool Listening to you also..
