I use the cmoy with a galaxy S4

does any one know how the i basso dx 50 will go with driving these iems?

All i have right now is power amp on a htc 1 i honestly dont think this will bring these guys out of their shell

i have read this whole thread btw , it made me laugh and it made me cry , can i just say wtf people !? so dramatic in places it reminded me of breaking bad, all over again haha

but for the most part it has been excellent reading and for the most of participants i thank you for all your enlightening contributions:smile:  these new iems are gunna take a 520 $ aud chunk out of my pocket its a rare opportunity that i get this kind of cash and i really just wanted to make sure the fairest company wins hahaha thats bs btw. i just want the best sounding iem for my money btw any one thinking of going with the w4 you should go for it they are exellent and i was in love with them we used to sleep together every night they are simply a great iem , so there seems to be a bit of pressure on the sm64 since i have read on multiple occasions these are more favorable than w4s , for now i am skeptical , but optimistic so only time will tell :beerchug:

Congrats!
I hope you will like them ;)
The DX50 is a pretty good match for the SM64, if you ask me. Has more than enough power. I would say that even your phone will do a great "driving" these IEMs.

After a "touching" and dramatic storyline, that is not a fairytale ending. :D

Soooo... is Pepper still the only person here who did remove the filters?

I think so!

Also, I am not sure how the filters work and if they are consistent across everyone's pairs of SM64s. Clearly, a lot of people are happy with SM64s and they still have the filters in... My SM64s just sounded noticeably bad (but I have a good point of reference, having owned a lot of fairly high end IEMs and a pretty high end full-sized can setup).

Either their filters aren't messed up as mine, or they think that the filtered sound sounds good (because they don't have a good point of reference/personal preference). I know this might be the case because some people really rave on about how big the bass/sub-bass is... which is something that was very true when I had the filters in. That big (in my opinion, bloated and really overpowering bass) disappears when you take out the filters, and so I think that's a symptom of having the filters in rather than out.

Honestly, I originally kept the filters carefully on my desk when I removed them (in case I wanted to put them back in). But really don't because the sound is 100x better without them in (compared to the filters I had), so I was happy just vacuuming them up and never seeing them again :P.

If I could describe the sound with filters in, it basically sounded like muddy HD650s... Super laid back, soft with treble-roll off, but without the imaging/resolution of the 650s. Also, a huge overpowering bass and subbass (with filters in).

I'm looking to get some new foam tips as the stock ones are at its end.

I really like the seal and sound I got with the stock foams... so am I better off with the comply iso plus tips or shure olives?

Thanks

The Phonak silicone tips are comfortable, give a quick easy seal, and improve the SM64s already impressive soundstage.

I don't dig the sound I get from silicone tips on these on certain genres. I already have a pack of westone star tips for when I want a brighter and more detailed sound.

Please give suggestions off what my preference is in my post.

Thanks
