Earsonics SM64: The Impressions Thread - Page 59

I doubt it, most likely a stocking issue. They regularly stock and remove the SM3. HiDef lifestyle is authorized in US as well but I don't think they carry the SM64.

Somebody know where I can find the SM64 to buy in US?

Thanks.

Did you take a look at the "For Sale" section of the forum?

Yes. But nothing at now.

Well...I guess you don't want to order a pair from Earsonics directly, right?

Btw, I just saw that they put out a new CIEM and are teasing another one on their webiste :)
Interesting!

I couldn't find a dealer in the US. The few stores that sell Earsonics are not carrying the SM64 anymore.

I guess you'll have to wait for a deal in the forum or find one on Ebay. Or buy directly from Earsonics, of course.

By the way, "Hello" from another Brazilian! :)

Hi everyone,

Whats the advantage (if any) of the SM64 over the SM3? Is it still dark and mid focused?

Thanks!

I've never heard the SM3, but would find it hard to call the SM64 dark. You could call them warm or fluid as the bass is strong and extends deep which adds a pleasantness to the entire sound signature. On the other hand, it is very clear and presents excellent detail across the board (bass, mid & high). The mids are more forward than the TF10 and there is no veil like my W4. Thankfully there is very little sibilance (only with a few bad/harsh recordings) even though the highs extend nicely.

Overall it is quite balanced, cohesive and coherent - everything just works together. This coupled with excellent sound stage and imaging delivers a natural sounding and fun listening IEM.

Earphonesolutions.com is now an Earsonics dealer.

They only list the S-EM6 on their website right now but customer service said via email they have one SM64 in stock. Didn't ask the price (soundearphones.com was selling them for $399).

I have finally finished a well overdue review of the SM64. Let it go on record that I find it the most likeable of every its wrap-around-ear stage monitors I have spent a lot of time with. Love it.

Thank for the very detailed and well-written review!

I have owned the UE TripleFi 10, the Earsonics SM3 v1 and a few others lower-priced earphones but the SM64 (v2 version) is definitely MUCH better than any of these in my opinion.

No hiss at all from my iPod 5G Video or Fiio X3, connected to the JDS Labs C5 Amp or not. I did not have any problems driving them from my Matrix Cube DAC/AMP either.

I have read some people had problems getting a good fit, but for me the double-flange silicon tips worked just fine. Good isolation even while talking or eating.

Really impressive earphones!

Great Review, and pictures very nice too.

Btw, anyone still debating over  coming  to CanJam Audio Fest this Oct 11-13 ?

Well, this and new S-EM6 6 drivers from Earsonics will be there for you to audition.

Refer to Officiаl Can Jam thread here

Looking forward to meeting you all soon!

I use comply tips only. Double flanges hurt my ears. Oh well. At least I found good fit.

Honestly I'm in love with these phones. I think fit is okay, but sound-wise, these are excellent. Completely. Earsonics proved that there's nothing they can't do. And in reinventing their sound in the SM64, they really drove to the top for stage monitors.

EDIT: messed up, FitEar is NOT Earsonics.
