So, did anybody here already had the balls to remove the filters?

My advice? Save your balls, and your time. As the saying does, if it ain't broke...

Besides, why ruin an already great sound, I say. Just my opinion, of course.

I'm just curious and even if they would sound a bit better without the filters, I don't think I would remove them :)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but removing the filters of the SM3 gives them a bit more treble and a better soundstage?
If the SM64 would react similar, it's soundsignature would change a bit in the v1 direction.

I really like the v2 more than then v1 but I just want to know if my theory is not completely wrong.

I think the unit I have is V2. The filter is situated right at the tip of the nozzle, does that sound right for other V2 owners?

Yup, that's the v2.

So am I correct to assume that V1 has the filter situated lower then? Is that the only physical difference between the two?

Hmm I guess it's the only one that is easily visable. The impendance is lower, so there might be diffrent wires inside the shell or something like this. Or maybe the connector looks diffrent? No idea.

Oh, and yes, the filter of the v1 is situated lower.

Glad u think so highly of SM64 and could be an end game with the TP especially more you. I almost feel that way too sometimes when pair with Zana Duex SE (of course its not fair). For me the V1 pair very well with tube amps since they give a good blossom on the mid range.

Do you help 2 have feedback in SmartPhone. I wanna buy SM64 to pair with SamSung GS4 or HTC One but I scare bass from beats audio in One can boots more bass in sm64.It is enough quality for me :((

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I believe the beats audio feature can be disabled through settings. I do happen to know for a fact that through the installation of customs roms (on rooted Android devices), you can choose to remove certain features (such as the beats audio feature) entirely. So, there's always that...

As long as u get the sm64v1...a bit of boosting in bass i think is okay (at least from what i've had heard). The sparkling highs in v1 will help that so the sound could be fun to enjoy. But with v2...i found a bit of adding bass to it...the sound would be somewhat muffled and requires more crisp. So that is why with sm64v2 i would stay away from amp which has a dark or boosting bass character. Don't get me wrong...my self i still prefer the SQ of v2 compared to v1.
