Need help: USB DAC and Windows 7 SP1 issues

Thread Starter

Just upgraded my main computer from Vista 64bit to Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64bit. Everything works great but it looks like my USB Dac (Audinst HUD-MX1) ist not willing to work in the new setup.

According to the Windows device manager everything is fine. W7 automatically installs generic USB audio drivers and the MX-1 shows the yellow LED (ready for receiving a signal). Onboard Sound is deactivated in the BIOS and the MX1 is choosen as output device. Still the DAC gets no signal. In my research I found several discussions of similar issues. It seems like Microsoft introduced new USB audio drivers together with the SP1 version of Windows 7 and this might cause incompatibility issues with some DACs.

Has anyone experienced this problem or has an idea about how to solve this?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Perhaps someone who owns the same DAC and is subscribed to this review thread for it might have solved the problem already: http://www.head-fi.org/t/484163/review-audinst-hud-mx1-dac-amp-a-promising-newcomer-compared-to-audio-gd-fun-amb-gamma2

I've had no problems whatsoever with the Audinst using the same OS as you.

What software are you using to listen to music?
