Japanese seller has new Audio Technica AD900x (open variant of A900x) for $172 with shipping for me.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009S331VU/

It's roughly the lowest price I've seen on these (they get listed new on ebay for about $170 from time to time as well).

I have no issues with my Zalman clip-on mic. Are you sure you're not just clipping it on a little too far from your mouth? Because its a clip-on it will vary from person to person based on where they attach it. I've found that if you attach it close enough to your face it performs as well as any other similar boom mic with the added bonus that you can clip it onto any headphones you want whereas sets with microphones built-in tend to have pretty poor sound quality.

Try moving the Zalman closer to your mouth. Clip it on just under your chin.

Seller has only received a total of 7 feedbacks, for the past 12 months.

Not a headphone deal but possibly of interest here...

I just got back from shopping at Target and while there saw a small display rack with vinyl records in it. All of the albums (180 gram remasters) were marked with clearance stickers. I picked up the Beatles - Abbey Road, Let it Be, Sgt. Peppers, and Revolver for $6.58 ea. and U2 - Joshua Tree (2-LP) for $8.68.

Not even sure if this is fully legit, but it looks like a great deal for Canadians (but only local pickup it seems frown.gif)

It's on reddit /r/freebies

http://www.reddit.com/r/freebies/comments/1hs42p/free_microphone_or_headphones_with_mic_when_you/

and is really popular

I just did it.

Basically, you go here:

https://store.makemusic.com/FreeTrial/Default.aspx

type in the promo code:

SM123educator

And then choose the headphones you want. The free units they offer are all the ones listed here:

http://downloads2.makemusic.com/pdf/smartmusic/SM_Mic_Fact_Sheet.pdf

The USB Vocal ones are the ones I got.

You need to make a quick account before that, your home address is needed.

After that, you add to cart and check out. NO CREDIT CARD OR ANYTHING REQUIRED.

ONLY USA. (or you get a shipping cost, not worth it for the quality of the hp in my opinion)

How did this happen?:

The website company is by MakeMsuci, which is one of the bigest names in music education and music notation software. Their Finale software is heavily used in the world of music I guess

They wanted to help the community out by providing learning learning videos and excercieses on how to use their software, and equipment for musical purposes

http://www.smartmusic.com/free/

This was the original program. At the end of completing the program, they give you a promo code which allows you to have one free mic or headphone. The promo code was the same, and so users just posted the direct store link and promo code.

Considering how large their company is, it is expected that they will fullfill this ridiculous amount of internet fame and product ordering.

This abides by all Head-Fi rules, is legal, and is an official company offering. And so I am posting it. The shortcut to the promo code is a bit cheap, but if you wish to 'learn' then feel free to use the link provided to watch the videos.

They're now down to $274.99.  That looks to be the lowest price on Amazon from camelcamelcamel.com.
