USB DAC + AMP combo : in all this mess, what to choose?

Hi,

I read a bit the reviews here and found some interesting stuff, like the following :

  • Yulong D100 MKII
  • Grant Fidelity TubeDac-11
  • AudioQuest Dragonfly
  • O2+ODAC

Well all of them are in the sud 500$ price range.

Now my question is : how do they compare each other, and which one will perform the best with an AKG k240M with a large impedance ?

Note that I may be missing some models, so feel free to add more to the list.

Aune T1 Tube amp/dac out of question?

As I said, I'm open to other models, as long as they come with some justification / comparison.

For example it seems there is a tube in the amping section. What does it means in terms of sound ? Warmer, less precise sound ?

I read somewhere it could be light on a 600 Ohm headphone. Is it true ?

With 600Ohm it might be little weak yeah, but I think it depends on what exact can you are using.

It seems reasonable to say that if my ipod classic can drive it this little amp will do too, no ?

Is there any difference between the different makers for o2+odac? Like between jdslab and head'n'hifi ?

they should all sound the same.
