The prices include 25 % Norwegian VAT.

Exchange rate 15 February 2013 of Norwegian krone (NOK):

1 Dollar USD 5,54

To calculate an equivalent US price you need to first subtract VAT, and then calculate the USD price: $1255,60

I found the price in this ad by a regular shop in the center of Oslo: http://stereofil.no/plakater/2013_1.gif

I know, but I thought Sennheiser had a strict and rigid price regime for retailers. I guess I was mistaken.

Those rules generally apply to advertised pricing.  Price paid is up to the reseller.

Right, those rules apply to the advertised price or msrp. If the retailer wants to charge more, then that's something different.
