I would like to buy my first Amp/DAC for my HD650s and Shure SE535s... Can you guys help?

Hi audiophiles,

 

I have Shure SE 535s and just ordered Sennheiser HD650s. I listen to music (every genre) using my MacbookPro from 2010.

I have just learned of headphone amps and I dont know what I should want/need and I have no idea what will suit me best.

I am limited because I have the budget to spend $300 tops (though I am happy to buy used).

I doubt I will be starting an amp/dac collection given the cost of these things so I am hoping the one I end up with is the only one I will need.

Can you guys help direct me to make the right choice here? Is there anything in my budget that will be good enough to keep my buyer remorse at bay?

The JDS Labs O2+ODAC combo should suit your needs http://www.jdslabs.com/item.php?fetchitem=48

 

Another option is the Leckerton UHA-6S.MKII

 

There is plenty of info about these two amps here. Just do a search :)

 

If you choose to go the O2+ODAC route, you might want to ask JDS Labs to lower the gain (otherwise it would be too loud for your SE535s, even at low gain)
