That C3 has always intrigued me, just wish it had a bigger screen. Don't know how you're supposed to navigate that thing.
A bigger screen... The C3 is made to listen to not look at and admire, well for the first month or two your in awe of the sweet little rig. biggrin.gif

If you are a playlist or random play all kind of guy then it's not for you. If you like to EQ your music, then it's not for you. If you don't have your music all properly tagged and sorted, then it's not for you... The C3 displays music in order that it was put on the device, so you run a little directory sort program to alphabetize your music which only takes a few seconds and your good to go. It has a really low powered output, great for IEM's but headphones really should have an amp attached.

You get used to and overcome it's little idiosyncrasies, it's not and iPod and it's not a Rockboxed Sansa. It is just an amazing sounding DAP with a UI designed by people who havn't used any sort of portable device in their life, or it was made by simian's, whichever you like... biggrin.gif

Have I frightened you away yet?

I highlighted what the main issues would be for me above in TD's post.

I never do shuffle play all anymore, but I do sometimes like to choose shuffle  all of one artist's stuff. So the lack of ReplayGain would also be an issue. As far as EQ, I don't always use it, but not having a good one would limit what headphones I could use.

And that bit about the sorting of the files to get them to display normally, that would bug me too....if I received that player not knowing about that issue or the workaround it would drive me batshiznit crazy...lol.

To all my budget-fi brethren; AT&T has otterbox cases meant for phones on clearance for 5 bucks; if you buy 3 you get 25% off each case.  They are sold out online but I got them at the actual store you can walk into.  They're not supposed to give 25% off but I smooth talked the pretty sales lady to give it to me anyway.  I got 6 for 24.24.  Perfect for iems and a DAP.  The top part has this cargo net thing thats perfect for placing iem pouches or iems themselves as shown in the pic.  I'm not going to post this in the deals thread till tomorrow so you guys have a better chance of getting them.  Cheers!

Wow... Always wanted one of those but $40 to get one up here from OtterBox and we have no AT&T. If one of my US brethren could grab me one I would be grateful to the max! biggrin.gif

Thanks!

This thread hath been too quiet lately.

So.......... I scoured Midgard to find a suitable porta-hifi partner to bring along with me on my dangerous journey to the Accountant Lairs of ADS's Corporate office where I do battle against vendors and accountants daily..

Short story short... here's what I came up with!

Le Warning: Thy wallet shall not be Sacrificed! (Click to show)

FiiO X3 (AD8397/WM8740)    $170.95
SoundMAGIC E10                  $25.95

Total:                                   $196.90

The best part... all NEW.. not used or second hand. Just took time and patience to find these deals.
