Yeah, it's an inexpensive way of enjoying this hobby.

I devote the bigger bucks to my Rx7 and Home Theater gear O_O

It's still wayyy incomplete (There's a couple on my to-get list atm.) But I am going to get the He400s before I buy anymore IEMs for now.

Oh, how I love the Rx7! Is it modified? Did you do an engine swap out for the stock rotary, or kept it? More picsof the FD please! biggrin.gif

Also, what do the Meel M6 sound like to you, and how would you compare them to your other IEMs?

Light mods atm.. since I went into family mode 3 years ago (2yr old son) .. the motor was rebuilt by Pettit Racing with a small street port (rotor housing mod).. bunch of little bolt on's and reliability stuff. Modded Intercooler, intake, downpipe, catback exhaust, coolant mod, blow-off valve, springs, slotted brakes... that pretty much sums it up atm. If I get a promotion, I plan on dropping a 20B 3 rotor motor in her and a single turbo upgrade.. but I don't wanna jinx it (knock on wood)

I don't want to derail this thread with car pics (I posted some in the Car-fi thread) unless it's ok with TrollDragon.. :)

As far as the M6 goes.. I would say.. they are pretty balanced with a tilt to the warm side of the frequency (just enough subbass and not too much midbass, which I enjoy). Mids are clean, somewhat forward.. and can get sibilant with some recordings.. highs are just sparkly enough for me to play clean with bright recordings. Perfect for running, jogging, lifting, or just sitting around.

It's the perfect IEM for me cosmetically.. I love clear housings and over-ear wear. If it had a detachable cable, it would touch all the bases. And you can get them for only $10-$20.. so why not get a beater pair that looks and sounds good.

I think that's why I am going to probably get the Westone UM3x's down the line.. they check off all my boxes.

Didn't even compare them to the others.. but if you're still interested in knowing..

I would say if you take all the qualities of the M6 and took them up a huge notch.. you'd probably get the XBA-3's

Off the top of the head without going into a deep review.

Wooduo's - deep, super low extending sub bass, mids and highs are very balanced and crystal clear, surprising soundstage

UE600 - mids+soundstage king. rolled off bass and treble.

XBA3 = M6 + Super saiyan mode. Kinda uncomfortable

R1 - midbass, beautiful cable but microphonic

HAFX101 - V shaped bass monsters.

IL200 - Warm, Midcentric

MP8320 - Balanced across the board, too big and uncomfy

Thanks for this! So in a way, the M6 represents that "Sony" sound quality? Kinda like the MH1C if you ever used those before?

Very nice. Sounds like it'll be a top notch car one day in the near future! Until then, you can share more pics of your final staged Rx7! :D

The M6 seem pretty decent for the price, although it may lean a touch warm (which I'm not a fan of), I'm sure I'll deal with it fine. I might grab the M6P edition, with the universal volume control slider, so I can adjust whilst on the move, since the C3 has this really annoying touchpad that isn't all that great in terms of response to finger-touch.

It's a shame I can't grab a pair over here in Australia for $10-$20...

I'm digging the FD here! :)

Very sleek, although I've never been a fan of the huge (19"/20"?) rims, haha.

Well, I wouldn't say the M6 is anything very impressive with all the bangs for the buck  that are being released nowadays but it is good for a everyday beater if you worry about your iems too much. You can wait till meelec has a sale again. They have great deals very often and especially with all the holidays coming you can expect quite the discounts on a lot of models and their promo codes usually come with free US shipping and $2.95 shipping discount for non-US customers, so just 2-3 bucks for the shipping on top of the already greatly discounted product.

I wouldn't have expected much from a budget IEM anyways. After using mid-fi gear, I don't think I'd be very impressed with budget IEMs, but I suppose when you're in need of something better than $5 dollar IEMs, and you're usually on the go, with little time to pay attention to sound quality, I guess they could work. I'm not desperate for an IEM as of yet, still on the prowl for something interesting around this -$50 price range. So far, I have these two options in mind - the M6P and the SoundMAGIC E10.

Any suggestions on top of that, Kova?:)

Well, I have ordered the Brainwavz Delta to try it out and see if it can hang with bangs for buck like VSD1/VSD1S as some people claim. I figured for 20 bucks I'm not losing much if it doesn't turn out to be that good - at least the build quality seems nice. Also the new LG Quadbeat 2 might be a winner too but I'll wait for it to be available in the nearby electronic stores, so I can get it even cheaper.

Yeah the XBA3 are the more refined more technical version of the MH1c's. Almost like climbing up the same food chain.. M6 < MH1c < XBA3

I sold the XBA-3's though.. didn't like the fit.. bit too warm for me too. Still have the M6's for gym use though.

I'm with ya on the rims bro (19").. I wanted to go no larger than 18" but I got them for 90% off new!!! since this shop was closing down.. not really my taste in size or width.. so lately I've been using the stock 16's for awhile (way better for that late night random drag race)

I haven't put any money into her in a while though.. I think I need to do that come tax return season. :)

SoundMagic E10's are way better than M6. Just imo.

Let us know what you think of them when you get them:)

Haha, I guess for 90% off, they were alright to buy!

The stockies should keep you smiling whilst you save up for some new and prettier shoes:) (I say the stealthy all-black look, as seen here: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=624843410899282&set=a.130220923694869.25355.106576446059317&type=1&theater )

I say invest in her, she's a work of art, after all!

SoundMAGIC E10's sound way better? I've been told that also...but the thing is...now my decision is harder to make...

I'm stuck between:

Good sound quality for a cheap price (E10) with a cable-down wear (which is ideal for when I am sitting still like on a bus etc, but not when I'm working out)

VS.

Mediocre sound quality for a higher pricing (M6P), with an over-ear wear (which is ideal for working out but doesn't look all that appealing in public),  and has the volume control function which I kinda really need since when on the go, I won't have time to bother changing the volume of my source (as it has a really crappy touch pad).

What am I to do...
